Hong Kong Day 4

{Finally, HK trip continues} I wondered whether our readers know this: Whenever we go for holiday, I'm always the earlier one to wake up. On this fateful day, maybe it's because we were too tired after Day 3, but I got a rude shock when I tried to wake Blamer up in the morning... ...

Some morning greetings yey?

However, I still managed to drag her out of bed and here we are at Yau Ma Tei for some colonial- influenced breakfast at Mido Cafe.

Ha ha, maybe the earlier description was a little overboard; wat I meant was some western style breakfast. And here's my very first, authentic hot (and cheaper version) Yung-Yang.

Origins of Yung-Yang (my version of cos):

Leecher: I want my morning coffee... ...

Blamer: No, cannot drink coffee, u will end up having bad breath. Drink tea instead. Anyway, I like tea... ...

Leecher: But then, i want to drink coffee... ... (stamping feet)

Blamer: Ok lah, then you go drink your coffee... ...

Leecher: But I want to drink from the same the cup as you... ...

Blamer: ... ... ...

And hence the creation of 1/3 cup coffee, 1/3 cup tea and 1/3 milk. (Awww....)

And of cos the long awaited Po Luo Bao... Look at the golden, flaky crust! The bun was really soft and fluffy, sort of chewy as well. The crust was very fragrant and it melts in your mouth too, releasing its creaminess and sweetness. (By the way, no, I dun have a lame story about the creation of Po Luo Bao)

This is one of their favourites - spareribs baked rice. Only one word to describe this: HEAVENLY... ... After the vegetarian meal, this was the next best meal I had in Hong Kong. Mido Cafe, I will definitely be back again.

After our hearty breakfast, can u guess why we alighted at Sunny Bay??? (hint hint: look at the windows of the next train we're going to catch)

To Disney Land of cos!!

On board the train, can't resist taking pics with the Mickey Mouse Ears handle.

Copy Cat Blamer.

Finally, we arrived! Our virgin Disney Land experience.

I was just so excited about it ha ha!

Blamer was excited too, but she showed it in a different manner. (by taking pics with just anything she could pose with)

Oh and she wanted me to take this pic well in advance, since we have yet to figure out how to use the night mode of Dent Dent properly. By the way, this is the reverse side of the sign Blamer stood with earlier.

Queuing up and posing here with our tics. Interestingly enough, the tic seller actually gave me a Mickey ticket and a Minnie ticket.

This giant size portrait of Mickey, made up of flowers, greeted us as we began our magical journey for the day.

We managed to get Disney's own pro photographers to take this pic for us. It seemed like that at certain hot scenic spots, there will be such photographers taking pics for tourists! Cool...

One more suave pic of me b4 we enter the magical premises... ...

This pic was specially taken for Qian, I think. Blamer said Qian totally adores this character.

Our first pic with Disney's celebrities, Goofy and Pluto. Since I'm born in the year of the dog, thought it'll be fun to strike a doggy pic with them. But I think they were too engrossed in the Halloween theme and they looked as though they were trying to pounce on you instead... -.-''

Chip and Dale! Actually it's not too bad being in the costumes, you get to hug all the pretty girls that come to take pics with you. Look how happy Chip was.

The second most popular couple in Disney Land.

As the weather was pretty hot, the stars get to rest like every 20 mins or so. We couldn't get the chance to take a pic with Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween costumes, hence Blamer decided to be act as paparazzi and snap pics of them as they proceed to their resting point.

As we proceed to the next area, Blamer and I walked by this castle and she told me that this is Sleeping Beauty's castle. Hmm.. even in Disneyland there's unfairness, how come the other princesses din get their own castle??? Does it mean she is the 一姐 of Disneyland? Wa ha ha ha.

Next stop, tomorrow land, this is where we can ride on most of the park's ride.

The structure behind us was our very first ride. Blamer was still full of energy since she's not carrying anything : (

By the way, this is the name of the ride, actually is just a giant merry-go-round.

But what matters most is the company right? Cheese!

Wonder when will Blamer buy me a ride for my birthday?? Got to make do with this for the time being... ... {Blamer here: you can carry on to dream; its good to have dreams!}

Ha ha, our very own "open top" ride.

Blamer was arguing with me that we dun have to drive the vehicle, but in fact, we do need to steer and step on the accelerator to the "car" going... at least 让我过一下驾车瘾 (major hint)

Time for some refreshments. You are not visiting an amusement park if you are not at least holding a candy floss or popcorn in your hand.

The Candy making process

The end product: Candy floss that's bigger than Blamer's head

And my head as well... ...

While we were walking away from the candy stall. A group of dumpsters came by and set this up.

More pics! Qian this is for u.

Look at the way Minnie was clinging to me. I think she likes me... ...

As if to take revenge, whey Mick, take your hands off my girl! Wa ha ha ha

Oh ya the characters here are in their usual outfits. More classic yeah?

Honey pot? You guessed it, we are at Blamer's fav character!

Did I mentioned that it's way cool to be in one of these suits? How many girls in the world love Pooh?

Wow, look at his tummy, I wonder if it's Blamer secret agenda to make me look like him???

We are doing those tourist stuff again, taking pics with statues.

Managed to get a fellow tourist to snap a pic for us. Hey wat happened to those pro photographers that were supposed to be stationed around?

Blamer trying to mimic the broom. No worries, next time u can do all the housework u want. Hee hee hee... ...

Our next ride, Dumbo the flying elephant.

Chose a purple Dumbo, but this is the original Dumbo colour right?

Got the ride assistant take the pic this time. But he failed to include Dumbo : (

A Winnie the Pooh ride? How can Blamer miss this?

Took a ride in the honey pot but I think there's nothing much to this ride.

Remember how Blamer used to collect the ink stamps from the Gu Gong in Taiwan? Now she is a sucker for these coin press machines situated at various rest points. Cost HKD 10 for each coin.

As there was still lots to see, we decided to just grab a quick bite. Korean BBQ squid which I read from some websites it's a must try. My opinion? Dump it.

But the hotdog wasn't too bad. Lotsa sauce too. Look at how artistically I put on the sauces.

Next up, some 3-D cinemagic.

Our special glasses for the show. Think I look better in them than Blamer.

They ban the taking of any videos and pics of cos. But even if we were to take them, it won't be in 3-D so no point right? Only managed to take the curtains. Ha ha

Like all strategically placed souvenirs stores, it's located after the exit from the show. Cheapos Leecher and Blamer din get the hat in the end, though I thought I looked better in it than Mickey. Wa ha ha.

My virgin ride on one of these things. Wow, Disneyland really brings out the kid in you.

Ha ha, in my opinion, the scariest ride in the house. I just couldn't take such spinny rides, hence got the time to take the video for Blamer... ...

Well, at least I have been in the teacup albeit a stationary one. Ha ha.

A visit to the small small world. I wouldn't recommend this if you are rushing for time. But it has cute puppets inside.

Now this place is more fun, Adventureland. As you can see, the sky is darkening and our camera is starting to fail us.

We took the Terk to visit Tarzan's treehouse.

Nothing much here, din get to meet Tarzan, although I'm more interested in meeting Jane.

Now this is a must try ride. I forgot what it is called but its like some Indianna Jones movie ride through the jungle. While worth the wait.

Quite a realistic looking small elephant, taking a bath along the river.

After it started squirting water and the subsequent warnings from the tour guide that we might get wet, we decided to keep Dent Dent out of harm's way... ...

Nightfalls and here comes the parade. Dent Dent was nearly out of juice hence it's selected photography from here on... ...

Remember how our teacher used to say in our presentation classes, "treat the audiences like pumpkins". While now you can attached a visual to it.

Not the usual kind of parade, probably due to Halloween, the main theme is on the villains of Disneyland.

More browsing around after the parade. Last chance to get any souvenirs if any.

Oh and here are the tickets from those pro-photographers, you got to pay like HKD100 each if you wish to collect them.

This marks the end of our magical journey. Time for supper!

After much difficulty, we managed to locate this restaurant. It's near their closing time but the owners kindly let us have the last orders of the day.

Their 炸酱面, really tasty! The noodles is very springy and chewy. The sauce just heavenly. I wondered is it partly due to the fact that both of us were just too famished.

The recommended tomato and egg dumpling. So-so only.

After such a tiring day, we definitely must try this famous dessert shop.

A quick glance at their menu... ... I think their main theme is mango desserts of all shape and sizes.

Cheeky pics off the mirrors on the walls while waiting for the desserts to be served.

Fresh fruits combo with mango sago and ice-cream! Ended the day on a sweet note.
