Relax, Recharge 'n' Rejuvenate 1

Day 1

Part One

Blamer's Big Bro organised a Relax, Recharge 'n' Rejuvenate trip to Batam over the weekend.

We had breakfast at Mac at Habourfront.

Before we proceed to the cruise center to board our ferry.

Our trusty fleet -- Jet Raider

Yup that's Caihong's bros. Yen and Winston.

After nearly an hour, we set foot on Batam for our 2 days 1 night stay at... ...

Yup Yup good ol Harris Resort!

Our welcome drink. (remember the last time it was pink in colour)

Some cookies and a refreshing cool towel.

Fooling around while waiting to check in.

And in the the midst of everything, Winston and Yen were whipped off to do some welcome dance. I managed to escape by volunteering to be the camera man. Ha ha.

Got our hands on some handy maps which contains details of the activities we can do in the resort as well as the various shopping centres in the vicinity.

Took some more pics of the surroundings, pretty cosy little resort dun u think so?

Finally checking in on a non-smoking floor.

Our beds. Yes two single beds as Blamer complained I took up too much space on the bed : (

A couch by the corner.

The small but very clean bathroom

Couldn't resist going out into the balcony for some cam-whoring. Blamer looks like she's got a good hair day today.

After we have rested, it's time for our very first activity. Following one of the resort staffs to our first destination.

I got pretty good hair in this pic too : )

Know why Blamer is so happy in this pic?

Cos after quite a long walk, we finally arrived at our hunting ground.

First activity, archery!

Since all of us aren't robinhood, we shall practice with a coconut on the head instead (bigger target). Ha ha

Our instructor here trying to explain to us how to put on our gear.

Blamer all pumped up and ready to go!!!

Her first shot.

Focus... ...

Took a shot of Blamer's back view. More sei right?

But pattern sui sui only. No arrows on the board leh.

Next up is the ex sport sec of Blamer's hall, Yen.

His pose oso not bad, and he got onto the score board though. Ha ha, better than Blamer. However both of them failed to hit the yellow centre. The instructor promised to reward us with a Harris bandana if we can hit the bull's eye.

So it's up to me and Winston to do the trick.

Yen: Bro must get the Bandana for me hah.

Wa ha ha, I bet Blamer craves for me to I look like this... ...

Ah hah! Nearly destroyed the board with tat shot.

My authentic archery results.

The rest with the-not-so "authentic" results. Wa ha ha ha.

Doncha think Blamer's score board looked strangely familar?

We din managed to get the free Bandana, but we sure had a hell of a time blasting our arrows.

Taking a break after our archery session and while waiting for the transport for our next activity, tried to soaked in the Chinese New Year festive spirit at Harris. (Yes, this was before CNY, thanks to Blamer for hogging the photos)

Finally our transport arrived. Blamer was holding onto the tickets for our next activity.

Vroom Vroom! It's time to pit our skills on the race track. No amount of Daytona can beat the real thing.

To make things even more realistic. We need to put on the same head gear to protect us from all the heat and sweat while racing.

Dear Winston specially prepared this "headgear" to protect our hair from the smelly helmets that we were going to put on later.

The pro-looking trio.

However, is it me or does Blamer's helmet looks a bit 不搭?

A group photo after the race. No prizes for guessing who kena lapped the most no of times. Wa ha ha ha.

Time to break for lunch. Complimentary crackers as an appetizer.

We ordered our pizzas which was included in the package. Deliciously baked in a traditional oven that uses wood as the source of fuel. In my opinion, I think the pizzas are the most value-for-money items to order from their menu. Be sure to try them.

Revenge Time!

FYI, Blamer made a new year's resolution for 2009 to "ko-tok" me money whenever we go on dates. However, this fateful day I managed to break her resolution cos something unhappy happened at work, and Blamer wanted to cheer me up. (Yesh!)

Since it's gonna be her treat, might as well go for something better. Never tried Hogs Breath's steak before, so... ...

I think the food here shouldn't be too bad since Moses himself seems to be a fan.

We ordered a "Lemon Bitters" and...

Nachos for starters. They serve pretty big portions for the nachos, if u are at 1.5 times capacity (ie I'm 1, Blamer is 0.5), try to order this when u have a bigger group. Totally dig the salsa sauce, ok with the green one, but didn't really touch the white cos it's just whipped cream (or is it sour cream?).

Of cos, here comes the mains, Blamer ordered their "baby back pork ribs" which I thought was so-so only. Maybe cos I'm not really a fan of BBQ sauce. Too tangy for me.

I ordered their "blackened prime rib", lightly seasoned with cajun. Wow, their cut was really tender and moist. Sort of melts in mouth, for the meat is so soft that it disintegrates when u chew on it lightly.

While waiting for the bill to come... ... Blamer tried to pull a fast one again... ...

But a swift counter reminded her of the dinner's objective... ...

Ended up the bill totaled sgd 82.95 fully paid by Blamer! Happy~ Resolution broken!

Ichiban Boshi

We went to Ichiban Boshi @ Hougang Mall for dinner before CNY as I wanted to utilise my Ichiban Boshi Reward card :) Ichiban Boshi never fail to impress me with their value-saving set meals & service - fast, efficient & friendly. When they first started out, I still remembered having to queue for hours (literally) @ their branch in Wisma, as they don't take in reservations.

Leecher ordered 2 side dishes & one value set meal to share, as I wasn't hungry and he was wary that he might need to finish 1.5 times of the food (as I only finish 0.5 of the food when I wasn't hungry, haha) & expanding his waist-line in the process.

However, when the food came, I suddenly felt hungry - ya, girls are very fickle-minded in some instances - and told Leecher that he should watch his diet, if not, he can't fit into the clothes that he tailored. Being the ever-doting BF (he force me to put this in), I got the whole set meal, yeah!

On the other hand, Leecher's share got reduced to ...

Wa Ha Ha - Sorry dear, I need to help you to watch your waist-line :P

As it was pre-CNY period, the shopping malls will have all sorts of promotions/lucky draws to attract shoppers. Since I have already spent my money @ Ichiban Boshi, why waste the chance rite? We proceeded to the Customer Service & had double-the-chance of trying our luck at the fortune wheel (cuz Ichiban Boshi happens to be one-of-the-selected restaurants that qualify for x2 chances for that day! wa, I really 先见知明 , haha)

Will I be lucky & win the top prize?

*heart thumping* In the end, we got nothing :( Oh, but we still have some red packets as consolation, beats better than having nothing :)
