Graduation Day 2006

25th July 2006 - Convocation Day! Looking through old pictures brought nostalgic feelings in me :) As footprints was set up in 2007, so we decided to bring our readers down memory lane.

After 3 years of mugging, we finally graduated! Arrived on campus bright & early to get ready for the ceremony. It felt like going back to Hogwarts (minus all the enchanted feel of the castle) in our "Gryffindor" robes, lol.

With our parents, who met each other for the 1st time during our convo :)

After the ceremony with less than 20 secs of fame as you proceed onstage to collect the cert, we proceed to the open area for more picture taking.

It's amazing how I can still rem the day so clearly even till now. Perhaps, it was due to the hard work finally paid off. Perhaps, it was a day which marked the end of schooling. Perhaps, it was the day which I bid farewell to some of my friends as we embarked on different journeys in life. Perhaps, it was when new friendships are forged. Perhaps .....

3 years of undergrad studies in NBS, I have officially moved onto the ranks of alumni.

What's a convocation without taking pictures with friends?

Pri School buddies - Yuxin & Ivan.

Leecher's buddy, Huaiqin.

With Zhiguang

Kaijie! He was my Senior in BP while I became his Senior in NBS :)

Adeline & Yuxin. Adeline will be staying 2 blocks away from me as I moved across the island.

Qianhui & Nijun. I picked up Qian's gown while she was away in the States. We had to rely on emails to communicate with each other with a time difference of 13 hours. Not forgetting to thank Fling for the lovely flower! I still had it on my dressing table :)

Liyao, who now works in the same company as Leecher.

Zhirong, my 1st yr marketing project mate.

Adeline & Rebecca. Rebecca & I had to endure the 830 tutorial slot for the accounting module which I totally detest (both the subject and the tutor)

Huijuan, my FYP mate.

Lucinda - the colleague that I did not know I had until I stepped foot into the office.

Leecher's FYP mate, Celine.

With Olivia.

FMQ! So different yet so familiar.

With Hanbin. Where's Yaozu? Hmm....

Leecher with Daniel.

With Jiongting.

With Sharon.

Leecher with Charissa.

Group picture with the rest of the NBS group.

Uni gang - with Eileen, Dean, Cuiru & Steven missing.

With dear Khim Khim, my fave to-disturb-and-be-disturbed-partner.

Kenneth dearest! Been a while since our last meetup!

With shopping kaki, Shuhui.

Ivor who joined the forces to protect our homeland.

Sneaking a moment of private time .....

only to be disturbed by khim khim, lol.

Finally, a grand picture taking with the graduates who were still hanging around :)

SG River Cruise 2009

With our pictures stored across 3 laptops, 1 HDD & 3 thumbdrives, we have the tendency to forget where we placed our pictures ... hopefully we will have a more efficient system for storing-posting-blogging end March :)

SG River Cruise in 2009, courtesy of NTUC Media! We had a fun-packed Saturday with the Arty-Farty Stage Production followed by River Cruise by the Singapore River!

The huge turnout @ Raffles area for Family Day!

Headed for the cruise first before we took in the rest of the sights.

Off on a leisurely cruise down SG River to take in the sights .....

Leecher was kinda excited to be onboard the cruise & doing all the touristy stuff, lol ....

Our iconic Merlion located @ Merlion Park.

Marina Bay Integrated Resorts. I am able to monitor the construction progress of the IR as I had an unblocked view from my office seat. The growth is pretty amazing! Trees are being transported & planted on the Sands Skypark and on 27th April, IR will open its doors to welcome the first batch of visitors.

While SG River was dominated by cruise boats (as seen above), there was an "intruder" that appeared from the horizons and invaded into the territory

The captain explorer! I wanna go on the duck tour soon; still waiting for my complimentary tickets. Anyone wanna sponsor me? :P

The SG Flyer! We went onboard the flyer early this year & will blog about it in another post (hopefully soon!)

Lastly, The Durian aka The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. I'm sure Jinlian has a special affection towards this place :)

Housewarming @ HQ's Place

To adhere to the new year resolution made by clearing as many backdated entries as possible, I am wide awake @ 8am on a Saturday - typing away on my laptop while Leecher is still having a meeting with Mr Zhou on his own bed, tucked away in an area in Hougang.

Next up, housewarming @ Huaiqin & Sheena's place in Sep 09!

The cosy corner for a cuppa of coffee/tea on a lazy afternoon.

However, the tranquil feel was not felt in the house; all thanks to

Wii! The game that got all of us panting and sweating after a great workout.

Focusing on the screen with full concentration ....

However, there's always time to snap a picture for me, lol!

Oriole Cafe

Before Leecher surprised me with my bdae treat, I was "obliged" to treat him to lunch as he waited for 1.5 hrs before I made my grand appearance @ PS starbucks, lol. Plus, I had to "stroll" to Oriole Cafe in my 4-inch heels under the blazing sun; Leecher is quite evil :(

As per tradition, Leecher will always order the most expensive item on the menu whenever my card is on the chopping board.

Decided to "con" Leecher to Taka to get a birthday present for myself, but the only bdae present that I had was a picture of an Xmas-Teddy-Bear-Tree.

To rub salt to the wound, Leecher offered to give me another present - another picture with the Fashion Reindeer. Haiz :(

Bdae Treat from Kaijie

Yes, you have not misread the title; that goes to show how "efficient" I am in blogging! The 1st of the many bdae treats that I enjoyed in Dec :) We went to this place recommended by Leecher (once again, gave us the wrong directions)

Totally welcome this refreshing drink after walking 20 min under the hot sun. Cheers to an eventful birthday *lots of presents, lol*

The food was surprisingly good & prices are affordable!Let's take a peek into the menu:
  • Angel's Cheers: Invigorating Drink to begin your meal
  • Angel's Melody: Soup of the day (my fave!)
  • Angel's Blessing: Chicken Roulade with mushroom stuffing OR Oven-baked Dory Fillet with Grilled Prawns on Skewer OR Pan seared NZ Beef Striploin
  • Angel's Wishes: Snowy Chiffon with chantilly cream coated with roast almonds
  • Angel's Loves: Coffee or Tea
In case you are wondering, we had the Xmas lunch menu hence the association with Angels. You can really taste the bites of the mushroom in the soup, a reminder of home-cooked food without the use of MSG.

Snowy white bdae (slice) cake for the bdae girl :)
