Kite Flying

Guess where am I going with an ugly looking bag and dressed in shorts and flip-flops.

Marina Barrage for picnic and Blamer's virgin kite flying experience.

Always reminded me of the design sch @ NTU when I walked up this ramp.

Great view on top of the barrage.

What about the view here?

My specially prepared picnic basket for Blamer.

Complete with fruits, drinks and even a portable radio.

My yummi-li-cious 爱心 sandwiches. Black-pepper ham with hard-boiled eggs, lettuce, tomatoes and crunchy Japanese mini cucumbers topped with calcium rich cheese.

Bon-appetit!

Love the cups that came with the picnic basket. I still remember the basket was a free gift when I applied for my very first credit card.

After filling up our stomachs, it's time for Blamer's virgin kite-flying experience.

Let's go!

Now the teacher to demonstrate... ...

Not a very windy day though.

If you don't believe me, look, other people were having problems too.

Blamer's turn. Boasting that she would be able to get the kite flying.

Which was actually not too bad.

Whoa and the kite caught the wind.

Looking real good.

But then someone else's kite got tangled with ours and we got to start all over again.

Weren't successful after that, we decided to call it a day when announcement started blaring from the speakers asking us to evacuate from the open area due to possible thunder storm ahead.

Still a lot of ppl flying their kites as we packed up to leave.

A little disappointed that our kite weren't amongst them.

Anyways Blamer seems pretty happy about her accomplishment.

Day out with FMQ & Ray

Foodie FMQ recommended a place where we can go for Sunday brunch. Located at Parco Millenia Walk. I had a tough time locating this tuck-away eatery with a misleading name.
The concept is of an imaginary hotel in Paris' 8th district with a simple yet tasteful interior, strewn with antique furniture and comfortable lighting.

On top of being a restaurant, there are also small gift items, accessories and fashion apparel and bags for sale.

Playing around with FMQ's SLR. Indeed the pics look more pro than those taken by "dent dent"

Here comes the food. Ice tea and Beef curry rice. Notice how the images are blurry round the edges but sharp and in focus around the center? I dun remember achieving this effect with "dent dent"

This was avocado and smoked salmon sandwich shared by FMQ and Blamer. Saving some room for desserts.

Looks pretty yummy right? I think this was pancakes served with forest berries and vanilla bean ice-cream.

Pictures of the ladies taken by me. Really love the way the SLR went "ker-chic" when I took the shot.

Blamer on the other hand took a blurry pic of me and Ray. Looks like she was focusing the background instead.

Orta Hotel. Overall, I like the decor and ambience. Food wise was just average fair. Great place for some catch up with friends if food is not the main focus.

And so Ray and I proposed we go for another round of food at Ootoya

Adventurous me decided to try out their raw blue fin tuna marinated in soy sauce.

Eww.. too salty...

Ray went for their Ootoya special set.

Since the blue fin tuna is an appetizer, it was not enuf to satisfy me. Ordered their cold soba which was served plain other than the dipping sauce. Refreshing to the palate. I enjoyed slurping up the soba and sinking my teeth into the chewy noodles.

And girls will always be girls. They were only interested in the desserts. Couldn't go wrong with Japanese desserts.
