Reno Diary - Aircon

We met up with the aircon guys, recommended by our designers at our love nest, to discuss on how to place the aircon in each location.

This is for the first bedroom

Second bedroom

Lastly our Master Bedroom. We were quite appalled when the Aircon guy just took out his pencil and starting marking our beautiful new white walls. But our ID assured us that the drawings will not be visible after painting.

Reno Diary - IKEA

The favourite place for many young couples... ...

This is especially so for the theme that Blamer and I decided on.

A must for Blamer before we start our browsing.

Value for money hotdogs!

I wonder why this photo was taken, is it to capture the cupboard behind?

Exploring their cupboard compartments. Actually, I find that Ikea does have very innovative concepts for their home furnishings. A pity their quality is questionable for big items.

Totally love their soft closing cupboards. More reno related post coming up!

Reno Diary - Shortlisting Round

We've shortlisted a few ID firms based on referrals, reputations in the various forums. Next, we had to meet each ID in person to discuss on the requirements of the love nest.

One of the shortlisted firm was located @ UBI Techpark, quite a long walk from the MRT station.

Leecher, all dressed in white.

At the bus stop waiting for the bus. We realized that after each ID session, we gained more insights as to what we want for the love nest. Thus, it's all down to the quotes that they present to us & also, which ID we are comfortable with.

Gossip Session in disguise of Xmas-cum-New Yr Dinner

The first meet up after my Xmas hibernation. I was sick for 3 days and basically visited the doc 3 times over 7 days. Am so glad to meet up with them :) They can cure my illness instantly with all the "news" that we shared!

just a lovely backdrop for our pic - taking, but *hint hint*

Dinner @ Sushi Tei! Sweet Fling was the 1st to reach and managed to get us a table, I was astonished at the long queue when I stepped into the restaurant.

Green tea to warm the body. It was getting chilly towards the end of the year.

We ordered the items to share. I was happy to be eating solid food (doesn't matter abt the taste) but Jun & Fling commented that the standard seemed to have dropped.

Yummy! I love the soup, not that spicy yet it whets up the appetite!

Treats that Jun got for us from US! She was so sweet to ask me take some back for Leecher. Thanks gal!

Flea Market @ *scape

While I was clearing my wardrobe in early Oct, I had the thought of selling my pre-loved items in the flea market. So, I asked my sisters along, if they had clothes to clear - they were all gamed & we rented a booth @ *scape to sell our pre-loved items. Some are even brand new!

Early birds to reserve the booth near the entrance! Brought along my clothes rack to hang out clothes :)

Qian & me set up the stall while Fling got us drinks :) Lots of stuff to sell! Qian really cleared out her wardrobe and brought along shoes, bags, clothes and accessories, what a variety! The rest of us only brought clothes, haha!

Lots of booths selling all sorts of stuff! Mostly were selling pre-loved items like us, but there were a lot of booths selling brand new items or offering manicure services, like below:

Qian's freshly painted zebra prints nails.

Miao was the last to reach, with her bags full of clothes. Afterwhich, we just flea-ed amongst ourselves and bought stuff off one another, before putting the rest of the items on sale!

Always delighted to close a deal, which means money to spend on other items, LOL.

Shuchuan dropped by to give us his support, but alas, he couldn't buy any of our clothes, heehee! But he did picked up the stuff that he ordered from me. Hope those T-shirts fit :)

Of cuz, Leecher came over to help as well. He's more interested in keeping track of my money pouch though.

Taking a break in b/w customers

Spotted: Miao & Fling sneaking off to buy earrings from other vendors.

Amos & Bok dropped by at the end of the day to help pack up. A man's trash is definitely another's treasure :) we certainly had lots of fun! Till the next flea, sisters!

Xmas Dinner @ Ootoya

Leecher was on leave and brought his parents out for dinner. I rushed over to meet them after work @ Ootoya. Although located on the 7th floor, but this place is very popular! Fortunately, Leecher arrived early and managed to grab seats for us.

Salad for starters - vegetables, cherry tomatoes and smashed potatoes tossed in thick salad sauce. Perfect to start the ball rolling.

Spinach that don't look appealing to the senses.

Leecher decided to relive his Japan moments and ordered the same Torotoro set that he had in Ootoya Japan. Juicy scallops drenched in plum sauce, coupled with the fragrance of Japanese pearl rice = heavenly. The dish, presented in a bamboo steamer, was kept warm by the flame, much to Leecher's delight, as he, for one - hates eating cold food.

Caught in action!

Many of the sets include miso soup & side dishes. There's also the calorie count on the menu for the weight conscious. However, I heard that they have revamped their menu and took out the calorie count - anyone to verify this?

Waited almost 30 mins for my order, as they got it wrong the 1st time round. I was so hungry by then that I was stealing food off Leecher's bowl.

Xmas lighting down Orchard Road, my fave is still the blue section :)

Stopped over @ Bakerzin for desserts.

Leecher ordered Americano, which was prepared by adding hot water to espresso, giving it a similar strength but different flavour from regular drip coffee. I was never really a coffee person and coffee sessions with my clients taught me a great deal about them.

Auntie & Uncle sharing lemon tea :)

Dessert box full of goodies to share.
