Leecher's Bdae Treat

The birthday celebration continued with a bdae treat @ Capricci.

Capricci, located along Tanjong Pagar road, is the latest creation of Massimo Aquaro. Translated into "caprices" in English, the aptly named restaurant offers fine Italian cuisines that seek to satisfy all its patrons. I've made the reservation 2 weeks in advance, just so we could secure a seat :)

The restaurant was relatively empty when I reached, even though I was already late for the reserved timing. Guess punctuality is not very high on Sporean's list, me guilty as charged. Leecher made me wait for 30 mins before he showed up, which the manager cheekily teased him by saying he's a very lucky man (to have me waiting for him!)

The 3 course meal for the bdae boy consisted of orange perfumed maguro tuna tartare with avocado puree (appetizer), lemon zest perfumed risotto with pan seared fresh scallop and sweet Spanish cherry wine reduction (mains) and finished the meal with bounette ala piemontese (cocoa pudding) with crushed amaretti biscuits.

3 course meal for me consisted of John Dee grass fed beef tenderloin tartare with truffle oil, shaved parmesan and arugula (appetizer), ravioli of authentic Italian cheese fondue and mushroom, on a bed of homemade sausage and cherry tomatoes (main) and my choice of sweet - panna cotta drizzled with strawberry coulis.

As usual, Leecher get to pick his wine for his dish. Look at how happy he is :)

Leecher's Bdae

No matter how busy I am, I'll nv forget to celebrate the birthdays of my loved ones. Leecher super 到 this year, cuz even mummy dearest put on her apron and made something for him. He was lamenting that I didn't bring him somewhere nice this year, but I have plans all set up, wa ha ha! More coming up :)

Jing @ One Fullerton

We had some visitors in the office recently, so we brought them to Jing @ One Fullerton for a nice meal.

Been to this place @ Eric's recommendation when JohnB came over to SG in Jan. We even lo-hei there, but dent dent wasn't around that day, so can't take pics.

Eric placed orders for food for all our visitors.

First up, we had peking duck! YUM! Love this to bits, woohoo.

Then we had dim sum - custard bun, char siew bao, siew mai and prawn dumplings. The custard buns are awesome, difficult not to get messy when you're eating it.

Next, we had chicken soup. Initially, I thought we were all sharing the soup, so I just told Eric I have no preference. Little did I know that it's served individually, in a big bowl. Felt so full at this stage.

Lastly, the mains. A full 10 course meal!

AppleBee's

On one of our usual Friday dinner, we decided to try out this restaurant recommended by my colleague.

There's Blamer waiting for me to get off from work.

Finally arrived at triple one for Applebee's. My colleague highly recommended their steak which were thickly sliced and juicy.

Table setting and the menu. The menu does gives out a neighbourhood feel don't you think?

Not a bad crowd, think we are in for a good treat tonight.

I was warned about the huge serving size so we went ahead to order an appetizer and a main to share. No regrets on the nachos with spinach cheese dip. Totally love the cheesiness of the dip, it's thick and packed full of flavour, leave you craving for seconds and thirds... ...

Here comes the combo grill we ordered. The prawns were normal but the steak was the one that stole the limelight. Just the way I like it, juicy in the centre and slightly charred at the sides, you can never go wrong with this fomula. Like the way they use fresh mushrooms for their sauce too.

A pic for reference, so that you can see their really huge serving!

The part that surprised me the most! They actually wrote a msg on the receipt : ) sweet.

Movie --- Salt

One of those rare movie events sponsored by my company especially after 2008.

Nonetheless, the chosen movie was Salt! Blamer is a huge fan of Angelina Jolie, she thinks Jolie is really beautiful... ... I dun share the same sentiments though. To me, Blamer is the most beautiful (and everyone goes brrr... ...) Pardon me but must do this once in a while... ...

Bought extra food for my friends who were supposed to join us but they were late.

As we came straight from the office. I just couldn't wait any longer... ...

Oops caught in the act!

Jones the Grocer

Met up with Kaijie on a Saturday on a secret mission :) He brought me to Jones the Grocer @ Mandarin Gallery for lunch. Mountain-tortoise me didn't know they had ventured out from Dempsey. So excited to see them in town, as I love the outlet @ Dempsey, but seldom frequent the place as it was inaccessible for me.

Getting ready to flip the menu.

Check out the crowd! Fortunately, there were just the 2 of us, easier to get a table.

Love sugar cubes. I always link sugar cubes to horses, due to the stories that I read when I was still a little girl - stories about kids feeding sugar cubes to horses as treats :)

Lunch was filling even though we shared the pasta and blueberry tart. Glad that Kaijie found the perfect D for Gera & may bells be ringing soon :)
