NKF Carnival

We got our lazy bums out on a Sunday afternoon and headed to the city.

Hot hot day! The sky was gloomy in the morning yet, the weather changed after 1 hour later.

SG Flyer. Along the way, we spotted Gardens by the Bay too. I've yet to visit it - waiting for the hype to die down, so it will be less crowded.

Driver Leecher :)

No cars insight, smooth traffic all the way!

Lines of cars neatly parked.
Arrived @ Marina Barrage.

We came all the way here for the NKF Carnival. I'm sure most of us witnessed the fall of the old NKF a couple of years back. After some "house-keeping" in the organization, they are now back with their 1st ever public fund raising event.

The turnout was pretty good, given that we can't even find a lot in the carpark and had to park the car quite a distance away.

The band providing music for the event - taking a lil breather.

Bumped into Tracy, our wonderful videographer for our wedding. Recommended her to a couple of my friends and they promptly engaged her services as well :) Will be seeing her for a couple of times more at their weddings.

Tracy offered to help us take a couple pic :) So sweet of her!

White tents for food and Blue tents for games.

Redeem the mini mooncake first - cuz it was while stocks last. It came in a big environment bag, which only contained a mini mooncake.

Queuing up for mueh chee, one of the must-try during a carnival :)

Happily gobbling it down, for I was famished!

Next stop: Vegetarian Laksa, which consisted of just noodles and bean curd puff.

We stood at a corner and finish the laksa. Been a long time since we stood and ate our food.

Chocolate ice cream to finish off our meal :) Ice cream was sold out extremely fast in the humid weather and I managed to grab the last scoop of chocolate ice cream.

There were lots of kites flying above the barrage, decorating the afternoon sky.

Kids were enjoying themselves with games, instead of having their eyes glued to ipads, books and computers.

Cold drink that wasn't cold :(

While we engaged in 自拍, an uncle walked past us and offered to help us take a picture!

Thank you Uncle for your kind gesture :)

Before we left, managed to spot the NKF mascot. I pity the guy posing as the mascot, for he must be feeling extremely sweaty inside the costume!

Wild Honey

I'm extremely slow when it comes to exploring new places for food, for I'm often occupied with other stuff during weekends to venture outside. And also, I'm getting lazier in dressing up during weekends and just wanna stay at home. However, for EK's sake, we headed to Orchard for an extremely important agenda and also, his birthday treat. Initially wanted to visit Hatched, but decided to head to Wild Honey @ Mandarin Gallery instead. Finally had the chance to try out this place, for it was one of the to-go places for brunch across several food blogs that I've come across.

We had to wait for 30 mins before we could get a table :( The place was still packed even though it was almost 2.30pm by the time we were given a table.

I was famished by the time we were shown a seat. I placed orders for 2 items and one of them was sold out ... boohoo!

Got rather bored while waiting, so practising my shoots.

Water served promptly, nice touch.

Drinks, I love having my tea that comes in a nice pot, with matching cup+saucer. It just made the whole experience v English.

Leecher's recent love affair with poached eggs. He has been ordering them since we started out checking cafes. I reckoned that he finds it addictive seeing the runny yolks oozing out.

EK ordered char-grilled chicken sandwich. The portion is huge! Good for sharing though.

I love New York - softly scrambled eggs mixed with caramelized onions and imported smoked sturgeon with lightly toasted sesame bagel and own cream cheese. My my! The bagel tasted soooo good, on its own or paired with cream cheese.

Though I'm not a fan of tomatoes, but seeing the tomatoes perk me up! They add a nice colour to the dish.

I honestly can't rem what we were talking about for me to say "Aiyoh!" Caught on camera by Leecher.

Boss Khim in the house, full and happy from his bdae treat :)
