Honeymoon: Departure to Amsterdam

Finally, our honeymoon series *confetti in the air*. I'm guilty to say that I have taken a long time to sort out the pictures & archived them in my folders. The year flew by so quickly that I'm missing the place as I typed out the entries. The food, the picturesque scenery, the cheap but good wine and so much more. Our initial honeymoon location was Santorini, but due to riots during that period of time, we had to change location to elsewhere. It was a rather last minute decision to go on this trip, we only booked the tickets in late March. We were busy with work and didn't have time to sit down and plan the itinerary properly till 2 weeks before the trip. It was a mad rush trying to book for accommodations & train tickets. Nevertheless, we packed our bags on the day of departure and embarked on our honeymoon journey :)

Checking in our bags for the trip. Pack as light as possible (more rooms for our my purchases!)

Still in the midst of grasping the functionality of the new camera. No make-up face for the 14 hours journey. Didn't want to wake up to smudged eyeliner, lol!

The mandatory pose in front of the departure gate, lol! Must wave passport to complete the picture.

Once we took enough pics, time to find food to curb the hunger pangs.

Decided to have chinese food, since we'll be having western food for the next 14 days.

Last min check on the weather in Amsterdam & Paris.
 Walking shoes/boots for the journey.

 Boarding gate @ B1.
Practicing our 自拍 to pass time.

Soon, it was time for boarding. Overnight flights tend to be full, so we can't have a full row to ourselves.

14h of non-stop journey to Amsterdam. While I was meeting my pals in lala-land, occassionally waking up for meals + toilet breaks, Leecher was up all night catching up on movies on in-flight entertainment system. He always lament that I deprived him of movies, since I'm not a movie-goer.
Breakfast on-board the flight. Boy, I was so hungry when Leecher nudged me up from my sleep.
See lah, someone looked so sleepy after only a couple of hours of sleep. I felt so refreshed & was all ready to start my day!

Touching down soon *excited*

1st glimpse of Amsterdam. Couldn't get a proper shot as I was sitting in the middle seat :(
Let the journey begin!

KL Business Trip, April 2012 P2

Part One here.
The unfamiliar surrounding of LCCT made me panicked a lil, as I wasn't sure of the exact location of this terminal nor am I aware of how far I am from KL city. At the back of my mind, I was prepared for the worst case scenario - that I would tell my boss I landed at the wrong terminal, lol! I wondered how "foolish" that would make me look. Maybe I should start practicing my blur-and-dunno-what-to-do expression to make it more convincing. While clearing immigration, I asked the officer the cab journey b/w LCCT & KLIA. I heaved a sign of relief when he told me that it was approx 20 min drive. Based on the calculations, I could still make it on time for the meeting. Nothing could describe my joy when I saw the all-time familiar airport transfer sign! Hopped onto the cab and soon, I'm on the way to KL city :)
Took the train from client's place to KLCC for lunch. Needed the fuel for the next round of meeting in the afternoon.

Everywhere was crowded during lunch hours. Decided to settle my lunch at Dome, since the turn-over rate was high based on my observation :)
The place was packed with people and tables were lined so close that I could hear the conversation going on at the tables beside me.
Tomato soup - Classica style made with loads of fresh tomatoes and herbs topped with croutons, served with fresh baguette slices. This big bowl was enough to last through the day!

Work commenced again after lunch with another client. We ran into some technical difficulties & took a rather long time to resolve. I was on the phone with the boss on troubleshooting the problem when boss suddenly reminded me that I should be on my way to the airport. Geez, my flight was at 7pm and I was still at my client's place at 4.30pm. Thankfully, the system was up and running again! My kind client got me a cab. Once I hopped on, the driver told me to buckle my seat belt while he zoomed all the way to the airport.
I managed to reach the airport at 6pm - still in time to catch my flight.
There are quite a variety of dining options in LCCT, like McDonald's, MaryBrown, Coffee Bean etc.
I settled my dinner @ Taste of Asia, which is a local food court.
Queuing up at the "gate". Looked like it will be a full flight.
Can't wait to head home &  crawl into bed :)

KL Business Trip, April 2012 P1

A brand new month, the start of the 2nd half of the year. After several posts on Bangkok, I had to switch destination & blogged about KL instead. The only times when I traveled to KL on personal time were road-trips with bros & sis. We had our annual getaway to KL in 2009, then continued in 2010 (P1, P2, P3 & P4). Other than that, it was always work in KL - attending seminars and meeting clients.
For this trip, I travelled to KL via Air Asia, as I couldn't get flights on SQ and I had to be there for a last minute meeting. In fact, I was surprised at the self check-in kiosks - certainly saves time in checking in! My 2nd encounter with the self check-in kiosks was during our BKK Nov 2012 trip, where Leecher had a chance to have some hands-on experience, lol!

Going there on a day trip, so traveled with just my 2 bags - laptop & personal bag. I often lament that we should have lighter laptops to reduce our "baggage". Still praying that I'll be able to get new laptop allowance this year & finally change my heavy laptop.
Breakfast @ Coffee Beans, which was surprisingly yummy! Great way to start my long day :)

Dinosaurs theme for the month, where the main lobby transformed into a mini dinosaur land. Spotted a couple (I think 3) of dinosaurs but was rushing for the flight so didn't "request" for a pic with them.
I dunno what came over me, but I started walking over to the D gates when the flight was located at gate C13. Imagine my shock when I turned up at the gate only to realize that it was flying to another destination!

One of the last few to board the plane.

I had the whole row to myself *yippee!*

Spotted, SQ flight that took off in a different direction.
Kinda missed my hair, now that I have trimmed it 2 weeks back. Now it looked so much shorter, not a bob cut, but just shorter and more layered. My curls have gone crazy with the shorter length too!
Preparing to join in the queue for take-off. Fun fact: With more than 6,500 weekly scheduled flights, an aircraft takes off or lands at Changi roughly once every 100 seconds.

One of the perks of window seat, so I can be occupied with taking pics of the view outside :)

Good enough to make it to Air Asia's website?

Since take the front, must also show you the "butt".

Doing it the budget way!

I sort of panicked when I looked at the foreign surroundings. Not the usual KLIA airport that I remember. I searched frantically for my itineary again, only to realise that I have landed at LCCT, which is their low cost carrier terminal (aka budget terminal). This terminal was built specially to cater to the growing number of passengers for low-cost airlines, especially Air Asia (Malaysia's first "no-frills" airline).

Check out the rest of my journey in Part Two!
