BKK Jun Biz Trip 2011

It's December & one of my fave month of the year, cuz it's my birthday month! Yippee (not on the growing old part though)! Anyway, Xmas is around the corner and soon, we will be counting down to 2012! Exciting plans lining up for 2012 and honestly, I can't wait for it to come :)

Guess my location ....

Mega hint

This should be obvious enough :)

Yup, jetting off again ..... to BKK! I was in BKK twice in Jan (1 week apart) & now, embarking on my 3rd trip to BKK. This was also the first time I travelled alone for business this year - I'm too used to having companions for trips this year that I actually felt lonely on this trip. Thankfully, it was just a 2D1N trip.

Breakfast on board to curb the hunger pangs.

The familiar sight of the airport & waiting area for the airport transfer.

On the way to the hotel :)

Complimentary Wifi access in the car! Suku-me quickly took a pic and whatsapp to Leecher, haha!

Staying @ Shang for this trip, as it was the closest hotel to the clients that I'm visiting this time round.

My "home" for the night.

The tidy room before I unpack and messed it all up, opps!

Complimentary water that don't come in the normal Evian bottles.

Love long mirrors, haha! They are always located strategically near the door, so you can do an outfit check before walking out of the door.

Platter of welcome fruit :)

A part of BKK that I have yet to explore. I was fortunate to get a room facing Chao Phraya River.

Enjoying the sights in the midst of preparing for client's meeting, haha!

Grabbed my stuff and headed for lunch @ the lobby.

It was during the election period when I was in BKK, thus, I had the chance to see the election posters decorating the streets. They have over 30 parties running for elections!

Back to hotel to change and head out for dinner :) As it was during the election period and I was traveling alone, Leecher and Mummy were worried about me and told me not to venture out at night. So, to give them a piece of mind (and spare myself from their nagging), I had my dinner @ the hotel instead.

Angelini was voted best Italian restaurant in BKK for 11 years in a row. It offers contemporary Italian cuisine and interesting selection of world class wines in chic atmosphere.

Love the lights, but I bet cleaning must be a chore!

Early dinner @ 8pm. Guess no one eats that early in BKK.

My fave Riseling to start the night.

Bread basket

Parma ham & rock melon slices.

Linguine pasta in canadian lobster and spicy tomato sauce

Sometimes, it quite enjoyable to have a meal all by yourself :)

***********

3 slices of waffles to start my morning :)

Chilling out @ the lobby in the late afternoon for my 9pm flight home. Once again, I couldn't get onboard the 6pm flight :(

The usual snack for me :) I think they are better at making breads/sandwiches than sweets (apart from the chocolates from the chocolate bar)

Time to head to the airport. I had to leave @ 7pm and braced myself for the horrible Friday night traffic to the airport.

The long journey & I had the time to take in all the surroundings along the way.

Finally! Till the next trip back :)

Times have changed

So, the conversation goes like this:

Me: dearie, my left hand feels abit aching recently.
Leecher: what happened? Your hands are very important to me, you know ... *pause for a moment*
Me: *waiting to hear what kind of mushy stuff he'll come up with*
Leecher: If not, who will wash my clothes for me?

Haiz ... 难到结了婚,一切就不浪漫了吗? >.<

Bdae cake for Ivan

After I landed in Singapore from my Beijing trip, rushed to buy a bdae cake for Ivan :) Poor kid didn't get to celebrate his birthday as it was near the exam period. Well, at least he had fun during the long school break.

Pre-Wedding Albums Collection

The long awaited call from Ivy to inform us that our wedding albums are ready for collection! The whole journey took around 3 months and we were happy to strike this item off our wedding-to-do-list, as this meant that we had one less thing to worry about!

Leecher forgot to wear his contact lens & he invented his own glasses + shades combi, which I think was quite duh.

Driving Jet into JB for the 1st time ever and to collect our wedding albums!

Crossing the causeway. Thank god traffic was smooth on that day.

Our bridal shop, one of the best in JB.

Waiting while Ivy went to bring out all our barang barang.

The whole package. For those who don't drive, transportation can be arranged with the bridal house to send all these stuff back to Singapore (to your doorstep) at a fee of $5o - for those who don't drive.

One of the albums, where Leecher chose the cover and design. The other album was too heavy that neither of us wanted to hold it up for pic-taking.

My wonderful coordinator :)

Kevin & Ivy, who happened to be husband and wife too :)

Viewing of Layout for the Albums

Crossing across the causeway once again to view the layout of our albums :) Leecher decided to queue up for curly fries while waiting for Uncle to come & fetch us from the usual spot.

We had to look through quite a lot of layouts as we had 2 separate albums. We only did amendments for a few layouts and the rest were left untouched. Then, we had to proceed to selecting the pictures for other miscellaneous stuff, like table-tops, wedding invites, album covers etc. The next step - album collection!

Picture Selection

After our pre-wedding photo-taking, it was time to select the pictures! Gosh, Kevin (our photographer) took almost 300+ over pictures for us and we had a hard time choosing :( Coupled the fact that I had 10 different gowns for this package, this made our choice even harder. Before the selection, I've already told Leecher that I'm prepared to top up, haha! Must prep Leecher first mah - but of cuz we have a budget that we need to stick to.

Waiting for our usual pickup @ the causeway.

Before heading to the studio, we had to curb our hunger pangs, so that we will be full of energy and in a better position to negotiate the prices later :)

Waiting in anticipation when Ivy, our coordinator went to retrieve the pictures for our viewing.

To kill time, I decided to look through other albums to look for inspiration for our picture layout as well.

See, how to choose 300+ pictures for only 1 album? We were stuck in the room for almost 3hours, trying to eliminate the pictures. Ivy, our coordinator, gave us a tip on choosing the pictures. As the pictures will be blown up on the album, it's important to look at the facial expression closely. Finally, we eliminated down to the pictures that we wanted to keep and formed our photo albums. Yes, I succumbed and top up! Haha, Ivy gave us a good price and it was way cheaper than top ups in Singapore. And she kindly gave me all the unedited hard copies back for my keeping, yippee!
