Ring

Tonight me and Blamer went for dinner at Ang Mo Kio. Come to think of it, this is the third time this week that we are eating out. (Is this going to my future? Since Blamer know nuts about cooking)

Anyway, after dinner we went toast box for a cuppa and an idea hit Blamer...

Ha ha ha ha... lame duck Blamer...

Pepper Lunch

Although this is not like the newest eatery in town, it's my first time here, 'cos Blamer keep saying that the food sucks and is not worth the price tag. ( but I think it's b'cos Blamer is a lousy cook den most prob dunno how to check whether her own food is cooked or not)

This is the outlet at Suntec.

Although there is a menu at the counter, on every table, they still included booklet menu. Reminds me of Pasta Mania.

Blamer's curry cheese beef rice before mixing

During mixing...

Ta Da...

Mine after cooking. Apparently, notice I have no photos of me cooking the dish. WHY? B'cos Blamer is already busy goofing down her rice to take pics of me... : (

Verdict: not too bad leh, like the saltiness of the food ha ha, especially the bean sprouts.

The Day Blamer Came Back

This is a belated post. It was the day Blamer came back from her biz trip to KL. Din knew that she was so 大牌 that Roger actually went to the airport to fetch her.

Seems like Blamer missed me a lot. See how tight she was hugging me?

But den I realised that it was just a trick to get me to carry her luggage. Do I look that the character in the famous Chinese literature 背影? The story about a father with a limp, sending his daughter off at the train station? The daughter was looking at the back of her father and realised how fortunate she was to have such a doting father. This is the back of a doting boyfriend, ke ke.

There was also the scene whereby the father crossed some railings to buy fruits for his daughter so that she can snack on the train. aka me at the railings too.

However, it was worth all the hard work b'cos Blamer was treating us to breakfast!! Must chop her carrot head and hence we headed for...

We tried to order everything on the breakfast menu, including some very expensive herbal tea which cost $7 per person. Very nice teapot and teacup though.

One of them is supposed to be the eight treasures tea while the other was some weirdly named tea. Can't really tell the difference between the two leh.

But anyway, here comes the food:

Vegetable pao. normal normal.

This is their 葱油饼. Taste like roti prata.

This is the noodles that I ordered. Suppose to be some scallop noodles but i seriously can't see any scallops in it. Xiufeng thinks it tasted like instant noodles.

Roger ordered their signature noodles I think. Tasted like our hawker centre fare Satay Bee Hoon. Find the gravy a tat too thick and u can get quite sick of it after a few mouthfuls

Think this is by far the best dish so far. Spicy dumplings, the sauce goes well with everything else on the table.

Savoury bean curd was the name of this dish, but I just think it's bland. The one at 油条王 in Geylang tastes better.

This is just their plain bun. Their breakfast mainly consisted of flour, flour and more flour.

This was the worst. Glutinous rice with pork floss. Wah lame dish man.

Think this dish is recycled from the spicy dumplings dish. Dumplings w/o sauce.

Overall verdict: I think some of the dish can be omitted as they are the same ingredients but prepared in a different manner. And the whole breakfast thingy cost well over $70. Definitely not worth the price tag.

Footprints in KL

Morning Flight to KL

My 1st official meet-the-clients-on-my-own business trip to KL. It was quite a packed journey, but nevertheless, i enjoyed myself pretty much too.

I was packing my luggage the night before and my mum commented that since its' just a 1-day trip, why not just take a small bag? Well, I do agree with her, but most of the stuff in my luggage are for my clients - documents, flysheets etc. Must take all these to show clients ma - so that others will know that I got do my work.

Woke up at 4am to catch the 7.10am flight @ T2. Been quite a while since I stepped into T2.

The garden that I always walked past w/o giving a 2nd look.

Since not many people are loitering in the departure hall, I decided that I should take a picture, haha.

Grabbed a quick breakfast - eggs and teh-O - @ Wang Jiao before boarding the flight

The journey to KL took only 1 hr - and the plane didn't even ascend into the clouds. I can still see land quite clearly.

This is the first time that I feel that I am travelling via budget despite being on SQ. Perhaps, its due to the short trip (flying for 45 mins) that no earphones were given out, no blanket and pillow to hug etc. When I looked at the itnery prepared for me, it was stated that snack will be given. I thought that perhaps I would have some biscuits to munch on .... but all I was given was .....

Felt kinda cheated, but can't blame them too, haha. Plus, the flight attendent was too "attentive" to passenger's needs. I was yawning (up at 4am you know, of cuz will yawn lah) but he mistook that I wanted to throw up, quickly asked if I wanted a bag ... >_<
Took a seat near the exit, wow, I love the huge leg space that they offer.

An hr journey from the airport to Marriott hotel - the driver keep yakety-yak away on the phone non-stop (got so much to talk meh?) My room - 11th floor up and overlooking the new shopping complex. Didn't have the chance to visit, since I heard that it's something like Paragon.

This bed definitely wins hands down in terms of the number of pillows (Westin only had 4, this has 6!)
TV and working area - the TV channels are good! Can watch MTV, HK dramas etc. I watched "A Date with the Vampire 3" before dozing off at night.

Mini Bar ... not a fan of it though

The bathroom has a Victorian feel to it, but I prefer the one @ Westin :)

Self-check - quite chui leh, but nvm la, hahaha

After checking into the hotel, its nearly 10.30. Rushed to change to my "formal" clothes and its out to the 1st meeting at 11am. My client actually called me (when I was still on the way to the hotel) if the meeting could be earlier. Wa lao, if not for this 11am meeting, I no need to torture myself and took the 7am flight lo.

Poolside Lunch @ Marriott Cafe

The meeting was ok, not that good as expected though. Felt a bit discouraged by it and decided to have lunch by the pool to relax myself. Think I was pretty tensed during the meeting (1st time kena asked so many questions, stressed leh)
Nothing much on the menu - so ordered the calamari (so-so only)

Penang laksa - strong fishy smell, almost left the whole bowl untouched.

Initially, I was very hungry cuz I only had 2 eggs in the morning @ 5am. When the food was served, I only ate like 4 calamari and 0.05% of the Penang laksa. So, go figure how "delicious" is the food.

Trying to force myself to "smile" after eating the food :(

Off the meet clients - 2 meetings in a row after lunch. Both went pretty well, morale-booster from the 1st meeting. The last meeting with XXX Bank was quite funny, the managers were all shocked that I was conducting the training. They even asked: Are you sure you are the one? Haha, they told me that they were actually expecting a more "mature" woman, haha.

When I told them that this is my 1st time in KL (been to Malaysia many times though), they wanted to bring me out for dinner, so sweet of them. Went back to the hotel after the meeting to wrap up for the day. Was feeling hungry and wanted something light - saw samosas in the menu. When the food came, I was pretty shocked .....

Pardon me for my ignorance - I wasn't expecting the samosa to look like chinese dumplings! I thought they're supposed to be triangle, small and flat...

Dinner @ Hawker Centre

Mr X came to pick me up at the hotel after work and we went to eat dinner. I told him that I had enough of hotel food, so he brought me to eat beef noodles.....oh gosh, the best meal of the day. Tender, juicy beef (oh, we had hawker food, cuz I wanted to eat local fare, haha)

Mr X drove me around in his car to look at the sights of KL. We even went scouting for local food to satisfy my mum's taste buds, haha. (the only thing my mum likes abt my biz trips is that she knows I will bring food back for her to eat)

Journey back to SG

I need to wake up at 5am, cuz the driver will pick me up at 6am. As usual, when the driver came, he was yakety-yak away on the phone. Seriously, its like 6am in the morning - who can he be talking to? Well, that's not my business anyway, but his constant chit-chatting prevents me from falling asleep, arg! Reached the airport at 7am ... see, the sky is just beginning to turn bright.

Looking at the flight details to see where I can check in my bags - somehow, I always have more things in my luggage on the return journey, even though I have gotten rid of my work stuff.

KL airport is kinda confusing in a sense that for international departures, you will need to take the aerotrain (our skytrain) to the other terminal to board the train. Kinda time-consuming i think ...

Before going down the escalator to clear the customs, so that I can take the train to the boarding gates

One good thing about this aerotrain is that it will open the gates (on one side) for people to alight first, before opening the gates on the other side for people to board. Perhaps, our skytrain should adopt the same measure, so that people won't be pushing and rushing their ways into the trains.

Duty-free shops and restaurants - but I think SG offers more variety, haha.

Had my breakfast at Delifrance - hot chocolate and butter croissant

Since there was nothing much to do on an early Saturday morning, I decided to rest in the lounge while waiting to board the plane. I always love taking pictures of the plane, haha. This is my flight, that just landed like 1/2 hr ago.

The flight was kinda empty. The economy sector that I was in - there were only like max of 20 pple. I wonder how they make money based on this, since the flight is like almost empty - and some of the passengers even travelled first class (saw a couple of them boarding through the first/business class gates)

My snack on board - still feeling sore that there were no biscuits :(

And 50 mins later, I am back!

Till the next biz trip ... quite tired to keep flying though :) But I am not complaining ...
