Tim & Jonathan in SG office

Tim & Jonathan were in SG office last Sep for a week. Besides the usual product updates, reviews and meetings, we played host and brought them out for feasting & boozing!

Peranakan Food @ Mama Chin, Circular Road.

The peranakan laksa & popiah were chef recommendations! We all ordered the set meal which comes with drinks + main + desserts @ $10.

Chilled drinks for our guests as they were not accustomed to SG weather.

Julian Hee look alike? Hee, that was my first impression when I met Jonathan for the 1st time! Even Andrew agrees with me.

Drinks session @ Post Bar, Fullerton

Another of my fave chill out place, besides Morton.

Indian Food @ Muthu's Curry, Suntec

Tim was game to try out fish head curry and before you know it, we arrived @ Muthu's Curry.

We had to order 1 dish each and soon, the table was filled to the brim. Fortunately, we had Andrew's bottomless pit to help with the food :)

Tim attempted to try the fish eye after hearing stories about John's adventures previously. Elliott & Andrew were secretly betting if he would chicken out at the last min.

The great leap of faith!

Group picture, as always!

Raclette @ Wine Company, Robertson Quay

We decided to go Swissy this time and went for Raclette @ Wine Company. Raclette is essentially melted cheese, served over boiled potatoes with lots of ground black pepper, accompanied by small pickled onions and gherkins. The name comes from the French verb "racler", to scrape, because of the way the melted cheese is scraped off the block.

Elliott looking through the wine list; deciding which are the best wines to go with the cheese.

Different types of cheese on display.

I am starting to drool just by looking at these pictures.

Look at the melted cheese; I can literally smell the fragrance of it whilst typing this entry. Must be my neighbours cooking some cheesy stuff.

We ended the night @ Pump Room for booze and playing 终级密码. I was lucky to escape with 2 drinks as forfeit while Natasha and Jonathan were on par with 6 drinks each! On a side note, congrats to Tim for having his first baby! His daughter shares the same birthday as me, so he won't have the excuse for forgetting my birthday in future :)

Christmas 2009

We parted ways on Xmas day to spend the festive season with our lovely friends; while Leecher was out @ HQ's house for potluck, I was out at Ryan's place for a day of steamboat :)

We were supposed to assemble @ Ryan's place at 1pm, but being bros & sis for over a decade, we know that the unofficial reporting time is normally 1.5-2hrs away from the official time ... so the sisters meet at the station near Ryan's place at 3pm, lol

Grocery shopping for our steamboat ingredients @ Cold Storage.

Wine for the after-party :)

Preparing the ingredients in the kitchen.

Ta-dah! A table full of spread; with lots of mushrooms, fishballs, sausages. We were banned from buying tau-pok due to overdosage of it @ Joe's place 7 years ago. This has been our private joke ever since that fateful day and it will always be mentioned everytime we have steamboat.

ZZG made his grand appearance at 6pm, just in time for dinner. His punishment for being late - to help the sisters to take this picture :) Fling, we forgot to use a cushion to represent you, so sorry!

We eat-drink-gossip-iphone the night away. Turned out that out of the 8 of us, 5 of us are Iphone users & ZZG was peer-pressured to purchase an Iphone after his contract ends :P

As per Caihong's tradition, a group picture is a must! Fling, once again, you will have to superimpose yourself into the picture. Miao, Ron & Ye Ling had to leave for the night while the rest decided to come up with our own program at midnight ....

Another round of prawning. 2 sessions within 2 days; would I be entitled to a VIP card for my frequent visits?

Yeah! First catch of the night :)

ZZG helping to unhook the prawn

The great harvest by everyone

Jocelyn caught a yellow-stickered prawn. Guess what is the prize?

A set of keychains, lol. We were expecting it could be a free basket of prawns or something; so disappointed :(

Ended the session with 18 prawns, 2hr of catching up over supper/breakfast, 1hr journey back home and reaching my place @ 8.30am on Boxing day. Off to bed for my marathon sleep!

Christmas 2009

A belated post. We had our first Christmas gathering at HQ's place.

A group photo of everyone present. New addition to the group, Gav's partner, Jac. Too bad Josh got something on and couldn't join us. U missed out man! (guffaw...)

Our gifts for the exchange. Mine's in orange wrappings courtesy of Blamer.

What's a better way to create the festivity at home than to have presents under the Christmas tree! Kudos to HQ!

Digging in to our potluck Christmas spread.

After dinner, HQ suggested playing the Pictionary Man set he bought. Something like win-lose-or-draw, just that the drawing board was replaced by the man. Brought us lotsa fun and laughter, would have been better if it's the Singaporean version as some of the American themes were like Greek to us.

After some more booze and snacking, it's time for the great gift exchange! Zg got Gav's present.

Mine went to Gav.

Zg's to Ray

Ray's to HQ

And finally, HQ's to me.

And everyone started ripping open their presents!

Seems that everyone got theirs out of their wrappings except me... ...

Still ripping... ....

And ripping... ....

Guess what came out from that BIG box??

Turns out that Zg got the most entertaining present of the night.

All of us took turns to play with Zg's present with Ray being the popular target practice. Should have bought more "weapons" so that we could do something like this:

Great epic battle!

Next up, cake cutting. Log cake courtesy of Ray.

Need to thank our wonderful hosts. Hq and his lovely wife.

With a game of 终级密码 and the forfeit was goofing down 8 potato balls in one go.

Till today I never knew that my capacity was so limited... ...

We increased the forfeit to 10, but HQ seems to be accommodating it well. Guess now we know who got the biggest gap. Hee hee hee...
