BKK Trip with Leecher Nov 2012 P2

Continued from P1. My 2nd home in BKK - Tango, haha! As usual, we missed breakfast, but fret not - Leecher already had somewhere in mind on where he wanna go.

Love the mirrors outside the lift - great place to check your outfit and take #ootd pics :)

Crossing the bridge to the other side & Leecher had to steal my Meiji Chocolate milk!

Leecher insisted that he wanted to try Fuji Japanese restaurant, for he didn't try it previously and was feeling sore that I came with the girls without him.

Happy Leecher flipped through the menu, only to pass it to me later for the ordering, DUH!

The usual table setting, with condiments.

Ordered a few dishes to be shared b/w us. Energy lvl at all time high as we set off to conquer Platinum mall, haha!
Fuji Japanese Restaurant
Platinum Mall, lvl 6

Leecher enjoying his shopping - he bought way more than me this time round!

Shopped all the way till night time. Bought only a few items, less than 10! Uber proud of myself :) Famished, we went searching for dinner!

Saw this stall near an alley, so decided to stop by for dinner.

I have no idea what we were eating, so we just order noodles and let them decide the rest. The beauty of streetfood - you won't know what you're getting esp if you don't speak the language.

We were really sitting in the alley, with cars passing us as we ate!

The Thais are really generous with their vegetables, much to my dismay :(

Must try otah from some random stall. Spicy yet yummy!

Leecher still in the mood of shopping.

I ventured off to buy some snacks - saw this fried chicken stall and joined the queue. Take a plastic bag, filled it up and pay accordingly. Different prices for different chicken parts. Unfortunately, the chicken pieces weren't piping hot ... tasted cold and oily :(

Beer gardens, outside CentralWorld Bangkok! This event was unable to operate last year cuz of the floods. Outside Singha venue, was tempted to go in and try, but I'm not a beer fan.

This place has better music, but lesser crowd. In fact, only 3 tables were occupied. What a shame, for the music was really good.

No beer, headed for Starbucks, haha!

The card that I got from the airport, don't waste it.

Chilled out at Starbucks, just to rest our tired feet. Been walking the whole day and I was dying for massage! Have to endure, cuz already booked an appt for full body massage tml :)

Was famished again, so dragged Leecher in search for the mama-mee stall. The problem with street vendors is that they seldom stay at the same place :( The mama-mee stall was gone, so we settled for another stall instead.

Very much like our version of fried kway teow.

Walked back to the hotel and saw the 1st Xmas lighting outside Novotel, a reminder that Xmas is coming!

Double Date with BFF + BF!

A double date with BFF + BF! I'm sooo behind in updating my foodie journey with Minqian :( Missed her ever since she moved outside CDB area, no more impromptu lunches and bitching ... Come back soon k? This time round, we have a B&C theme :) Decided to check out the latest cafe craze in town, Saveur.

Newly opened at a central location, with a cosy environment :)

The place was partially filled when we arrived at 6pm. From what I recalled, they only cater to walk-in customers. Head there before 6pm before it gets crowded later.

Simple menu, with slightly over 20 dishes at pocket friendly prices. You could spend close to SGD$200 to finish all the items in the menu. I was tempted to give that a try, sample all the dishes at one go and case closed.

While waiting for BFF + BF.

Soup of the day, that was served in a cuppuccino cup. First hit of how small the portions are! 4 of us and 8 spoonfuls later, this was cleared off the table.

Angel hair pasta with tiger prawns and lumpfish caviar. 1 bite each, and cleared off the table too.

When in french restaurant, it's a must for me to order foie gras :) Pan fried Foie Gras with lentils and pickled onions.  Portions were small, but dish was well-executed.

I've a recent love affair with duck confit, ordering this dish in almost restaurant that I've been to. This came with orange segment and saute shittake.

I love pork belly, and this dish was executed with egg and lentils, adding a nice punch to the otherwise salty dish.

Pan Fried Tenderloin with carrot puree & mushroom ragout and Pan Fried Monkfish with glazed vegetables and shellfish jus as mains. Interesting combi here - I've to admit that these dishes tasted delicious, even with all the greens (which I'm usually not a fan of!)

all lovely dovely :) Haha!

Bumped into Jun in the same place! She's wearing Winmer Maxi in Red from Swirl!

More pics outside the restaurant - MQ trying to accommodate my height, even though I was already in my heels, haha!

Headed to Open Door Policy for round 2!

The place was surprisingly empty when we reached @ 8pm, but was told that it was fully reserved. Only counter seats were available.

Without much choices, we headed for the counter seats - bad for sharing food in a group :(

We were told not to take any pictures of the menu and was bewildered when they told us an online menu is available on their website. Huh? So what's the harm in photography of menu items? BFF's BF ordered lamb shank and requested for a replacement of greens, which was met with a firm "no" from the sulky waitress.

White chocolate mousse with raspberry headache - pretty to look at, that's all.

The only dessert that's worth the 20 min wait - Chocolate & Pistachio Souffle. The texture was extremely fluffy and light - good for sharing though.

With our 2nd love, haha!

My mega 1st love ... for now, heehee :P

Great night out, till the next!
