Taiwan: YangMingshan - 夢幻湖

A shoutout to my lil brother for today is his 21st birthday! Doubt he will read this entry, cuz he seldom reads the blog. He finds it weird to be reading all about his sis's life, lol! Think he shld be having his "blanket party" now, haha! Gave him his pressie during Xmas and hopefully he will put it to good use :) Time really flies, even the lil bro is all grown up now.... which means that I'm getting old! Have to start facing reality soon, haha! Another TW entry below and meanwhile, TGIF!

********

After we left 小油坑, we arrived at the next destination - 冷水坑, which contains Taiwan's sole bed of precipitated sulphur. Popularly known as "Milk Lake" due to its cloudy colour.

Leecher looking comical with his 2 umbrellas opened.

We explore the nearby surroundings first - it sure felt surreal standing there, with the cold wind blowing in your face. I felt so refreshed even though I was getting pretty tired from the walking.

So, we headed towards the opposite direction & followed the signs towards Menghuan Pond. The pond is a protected area located at the western side of Mt Qixing. In winter, mist and fog enshroud the area to form a dreamy winter wonderland. Sounds magical already :)

Venturing towards the destination!

The walking trails are quite easy to walk and with clear direction signs to guide you along. So, there is really little chances of you getting lost, even if you're not familiar with the surroundings.

Taking a break and Leecher had to refuel his energy with food.

Nature spotting along the way!

Check out this gigantic spider web - I was surprised @ dent dent's ability to capture the intricate details so clearly.

Another one outside the guys' toilet.

Kids spotted cleaning up the area, our equivalent of community work services.

We soon arrived @ Menghuan Pond ... but to my great disappointment, it looked like this

Erm, which part looks 夢幻 to you? Apart from the mist and fog, it looked like a gigantic algae-filled pond. It was supposed to look like this

Nothing like what is seen in the picture. Wasted all our effort to walking here. So, we continued the trail towards the next destination ...

Creepy crawlers on the way down *yikes*

The Lim brothers having a fun time playing in the mist, haha! Didn't know guys can be easily entertained by simple things :)

Dinner @ Changi Village

2 weddings this month, Congrats to the couples. Coincidentally, both couples were part of our brothers' & sisters' entourage during our wedding and now, we are part of their entourage, haha! Leecher had a whacking time @ Gavin&Jac's wedding while I'm preparing for YawJin&Wanling's wedding later this week. 3 of my sisters got married this year, will be sharing their journey soon, stay tuned for it :)

Back to my usual (boring) life, with Leecher (equally boring fellow), haha!

Leecher waiting for me to finish my photoshoot, before heading out for dinner.

Climbing up the stairs to the carpark. The carpark structure of our estate is extremely weird, they only build lift on one side of the carpark, which happened to be the side away from our house. So we always have to rely on stairs instead, our morning workout.

Dinner @ Changi Village. Wanted to visit another cafe near the area, but their menu didn't look v appetizing, so we went to the coffee shop instead.

Mr Teh Tarik Eating House, open 24 hours, ideal for a late night snack if you are in the area.

Drinks while waiting for food.

Started with Rojak - I only eat the youtiaos, while Leecher is tasked to finish the rest.

Maggi mee goreng & fried chicken set. Leecher forgot to ask for no bean sprouts, and I had to pick out all the bean sprouts in my mee. Order so many times already still can forget, aiyoh!

Mummy dearest called when we were on the way home. So I complained to her about Leecher forgetting my orders, then she "scolded" me and took sides with Leecher. Told me to order myself next time.... how can like that?! I outnumbered, confirmed lose.

Taiwan: YangMingshan - Trail near to 小油坑

Boxing Day, but back to work in a few hours ... office is rather quiet during this time of the year, for most people will be on long leave all the way till 2013. I aimed to finish blogging about TW during this Dec period, but somehow, I nv go around finishing it, cuz I was too preoccupied with blogging about recent events! *opps* So, back to TW journey for this entry. You can also click on TAIWAN label at the side bar, to read up on the previous entries during our TW adventure :)

After our visit to 小油坑 we went on to explore the surrounding area.

Leecher thinking he's some ninja warrior =.=

A hidden trail leading us to somewhere ....

Ninja Leeher leading the way to find out what lies in front of us.

Still in ninja-warrior mood, with his umbrellas, haha!

Fooling around, since no one was watching, lol.

Parents-in-laws followed behind.

And so, we reached the viewing gallery in the middle of nowhere.  It was extremely windy, given that we were high up in the mountain.

The guys spotted another viewing gallery in a distance and decided to dash towards it.

See who made it there first?

Us, on the other side cheering for them.
Roger made it there first ... whatever happened to Ninja Leecher?

Bought some snacks to taste, but it seemed like the ice cream didn't go well with Roger, haha!
