新年快乐 (2013)- CNY Day 2 初二 & CNY Day 3 初三

2nd day of CNY is traditionally a day for married daughters to visit their birth parents, relatives and close friends (for married daughters didn't have the opportunity to visit their families frequently). So, on this day, we headed back to Mummy dearest place first, then went to my granny's place for a get together with the married daughters.

First lo-hei of the year. I normally eat just the crackers and salmon.

捞 for prosperity.

Then, we decided to take family portraits with our grandparents & I became the official photographer for the day.
1st auntie, 2nd auntie and 1st uncle family. We have a big family, so all the relatives & uncles are supposed to be called according to their ranking. However, we normally call them by their last name + uncle/auntie.

with my beloved family ~ no idea what mummy dearest is doing, lol!
2nd uncle, 4th auntie, 5th auntie & 6th auntie.

with my 2 lil precious brothers, baby bro & lil bro.

And, the elder-sister-younger-brother pairing continued. We need to start a new trend next year. Maybe will be brother-brother pairing, haha!

with my "BFs" of the day :) Sorry, all attached.

Taking pictures with the younger ones. Isaac holding onto his fave pikachu toy.

What's CNY without a bit of gambling?
Ah Yen got the best luck this year. He spilt his card and got blackjack on both pairs, ended up $X richer. A good start for the new year!

On this day, we headed over to Ryan's place to pai nian.

The must-have at every CNY gathering.

Good idea to place a disposable plastic on the table - no fret of getting the table dirty.

Baby Raenee, Ryan's precious lil girl.
She was sleeping, but opened her eyes when we told her that it was time to take pictures, so cute!

新年快乐 (2013)- Eve 除夕 & CNY Day 1 初一

We ushered in the (water) snake year last weekend & it was raining almost every day! Neverthless, it was a long weekend break for all of us, visiting relatives & friends. Hope everyone had enjoyed the first 3 days of celebration and now, it's time to hit the gym and back to exercise regime to shed off those extra kilos that we have put on during the feasting period :)

Red packets that we have prepared for our parents, grandparents & relatives.
Reunion dinner on CNY eve, @ in-law's place first before heading back to mummy dearest place. This year, we had 盆菜 on the table, together with other dishes that Mummy-in-law whipped.
It has become a habit for me to wear new clothes for the new year. For the past couple of years, I've been wearing all shades of red/pink to celebrate the festive season. This year, I'm dressed in shades of blue/green :) My outfit for CNY reunion dinner. Love the intricate lace details on the dress.

We headed back to mummy dearest place for 2nd round. We always have steamboat on reunion dinner.

The guys helping out in the kitchen.

And, they proceeded to eat w/o me.
 with the lil bro :)

The 1st day of CNY ~ headed to Parents'-in-law's place to 拜年 first, before heading to grandparents' place for 2nd round.

Black, blue & green are my lucky colours this year (not that I'm superstitious), but my outfit happened to capture all the 3 colours together, huat ar!
with my lil brother, all grown up! People tend to say we look alike, but we always beg to differ.

On instagram :)

my eldest cousin with her lil brother as well.

Spring Cleaning

I don't have a habit of spring cleaning during CNY, but this year, mummy dearest issued an order for me to head back and clear out my stuff from the store-room - which was filled up with lil bro & my items. The last time I did a major clear-out was when I shifted house to our love nest. Back then, my room looked like this:

Yup, my room was clustered with clothes & I always feel that I have got nothing to wear *slaps forehead with palm*

Operation Clean-up! I gave away quite a lot of clothes to my lil cousins while the rest went to the flea market.
I threw away a lot of stuff, including the flower bouquets that Leecher gave me during our courtship days. My room became tidier after this, partly cuz I've transferred most of my stuff to our current place, lol!

Some of the books/boxes that I kept in the store-room. Away from sight, away from mind mentality.

All the business textbooks that accompanied me during my uni days. Wanted to keep it for lil bro, but he chose to study engineering instead.

The killer subject during our 2nd year!

Then, I discovered my stash of F4 magazines! I used to be a huge fan of them, all because of Meteor Garden :)
One of my fave mag cover of them, this book is almost 10 years old! Still in good condition.

Found my zai zai pillow case, which was part of the gift for his 2nd album. Those were the days when I even went to queue up for his autograph, lol! #wewereyoungonce.

As I was busy tidying the room, Leecher was snoozing away! #lazybum.
