Dec Babies Birthday Celebration

The december babies (Kenneth, Pris & Me) met up to celebrate our birthdays together, as well as a pre-Xmas gathering with the Uni mates.

Made reservations @ Shunjuu Izakaya, a Japanese restaurant located along Robertson Quay.

Wall of fame.
Arrived early @ 7pm & we were one of the early birds.

Got a table tucked at the corner, where we have a clear view.
Miniature Xmas decorations :)

We ordered some dishes first, while waiting for the rest to make their way here.

Free entree was white cabbage and lady's fingers. I was caught by surprised that the cabbage can be eaten raw, lol! The sweet bean sauce is good for dipping, a perfect complement to the tasteless cabbage.
Shunjuu stocks some of the top nihonshu (commonly known as Sake) from all prefectures of Japan. We got the newspaper Sake (the bottle was literally wrapped up in fancy Japanese newspaper) to start the night.
Mixed Sashimi platter to start the ball rolling.
Then we went crazy from there, ordering lots of Sumiyaki, also known as Japanese Tapas, washing these down with the sake that we've ordered.
 Gan-bae!

Boss EK got us cake from Laurent Bernard.

And, he only bought 1 small cake to share b/w the 3 of us. Where got like that one? So we sent him back to the shop and buy more, lol!

Ta-dah! A cake for each Dec baby :)
The small birthday cakes that we all had :) realised that this year, I've been eating a lot of small cakes for my birthday. Time to cut the sugar level, lol!

Desserts on top of the cakes. It's pretty easy to guess which is the hot favourite.
The most expensive meal in our dining history, no thanks to KKB, lol!

Dinner Date with Kenneth & Fionn

A quick post before I head for the airport in a few hours time to fly back to SG. Was in BKK for work & wanted to extend my stay to venture outskirts to explore, but decided to go back home for daddy-in-law is celebrating his bdae this wkend :) Taking a break from blogging about the Bali trip for there were too many pictures to be loaded :p A date with Leecher (eons ago!) for a day of feasting!

Leecher brought me to try out this yong tau fu stall in Orchard. He used to frequent this stall when working part-time @ Robinsons. There was a wide selection of ingredients available, but as we went after lunch hours - most of the items were sold out. Hence, we can only make do with what was left. Nevertheless, I love the dip of sweet chilli sauce & sesame seed! The eatery has limited seating, so avoid peak hours.

Leecher went shoe-shopping @ Taka. Goodness, guys' shoes are so expensive! Actually, I think all of guys' stuff are expensive. Thankfully, Leecher don't shop a lot, heehee! More space in the wardrobe for me!

Adjourned to TCC for afternoon tea, which consisted of mini sandwiches and scones. I'm sure they would have revamped their afternoon tea set by now, and I think the quality has also improved. Then again, it largely depends on which outlet you patron.

Dinner with Kenneth & Fionn~ Been a long while since the 4 of us got together, but still full of jokes and laughter! We wanted to try Tampopo, but the queue was horrendous! There were around 15 groups of pax in front of us, so we continued walking when I heard someone calling my name. Turned around and lil bro was in the front of the queue! *eyes lit up* We joined him and managed to get 2 tables! Yippee, but I ended up footing the bill for lil bro's meal - kena "carrot-headed" again!

Phuket 2010 Day 4

Last day in Phuket, walking around at some shopping mall near the hotel.

Pris went for her mani & pedi session while we "window-shopped" for ........ nothing :(

Japanese food for brunch and we ordered way too much food!

Visit to the Premium outlets @ Phuket - honestly, nothing much to buy and we just spent the day at the cafe people-watching with our ice-creams :p

Time to board the plane & head home - and, another holiday backlog cleared! Yippee :)
