Blamer here: This is the 1st of the Bdae treat that Leecher got this year - look out for his 2nd bdae treat!
Zillion thanks to FMQ's fast fingers. We arrived early at Sheraton for another gastronomic delight.
D.O.M.V.S pay as u wish deal, limited to the first three participants who managed to register on their website. I was planning to win it for Blamer's birthday last year but wasn't fast enough. Really wonder how FMQ managed it.
First dish, Foie gras terrine with cremona mustard. The foie gras was too thick on its own but if you eat it spread over the biscuit, it's heavenly.
Second dish was asparagus soup with pan seared scallop, truffle foam. I prefer the asparagus grilled than cooked in soup form, too mushy for me. Soup on the other hand was really good.
Homemade beef cannelloni pasta with cherry tomato, leek sauce. This tasted a bit like beef bolognese spaghetti.
The main dish Grilled beef tenderloin with herbs crust Parmesan cheese served with potato confit. Make no mistake this time, I ordered the same thing as Blamer wa ha ha.
See the reddish pink hue in the centre? Done medium well. This, in my opinion, was the highlight of the night. Especially loved it when it's slightly charred at the sides.
Every girl's favourite dish, desserts: Lemon creme mille - feuille with strawberry compote and mint jelly cubes.
FMQ fore-warned us about the mint jellies which tasted a bit like our good old Colgate. Not that bad actually... ...
Crunch time! The ultimate test of honesty. "How much do you think the meal is worth?"
Overall still a good experience. Zillions of thanks to FMQ once again for your nimble fingers!

La Strada
When you have foodies as friends, it goes without saying that they will be pretty well-informed of any special treats in town.
Our choices of pizzas. We came away with Prosciutto di Parma e Rucola and Capricciosa. As you can see, it's not one-for-one if you don't order the most expensive items on the menu.
While waiting for the pizzas, FMQ had a little surprise for me. You guys will have to find out what it was in the next post!
Meanwhile, it's back to the pizzas. Strangely, the waiter gave me a puzzled look, when I requested for some cutlery.
I initially thought this was some salad and hence the request for some forks and knifes.
The less exciting Capricciosa with actichokes which I later found out was actually a kind of plant stem that's pretty nutritious. I can't believe the 3 of us managed to gobble down every last morsel of the pizzas.

Date @ Spruce
Another quite-up-to-date-post!
Date check on pictures: July 2010; 2 months lag, not bad! *pats shoulders* Posts published now will just be a combination of recent & not so recent posts :)
A lazy wkend whereby we went on our date, yippee! Leecher & me seldom go on dates, soooooo unromantic hor :( Haiz ... headed off to Spruce (thanks MQ for her recommendation)
It was drizzling slightly when we arrived.... but nothing will stop us from having our date, hmp!
Almost empty restaurant, as it was around 4pm. We came here for lunch, but Leecher couldn't find his way (what's new) :p
Indoor dining, which I don't really fancy. The only good thing is - you are placed in the same room as the dessert bar & ogle at the mouthwatering desserts.
Al-fresco dining - listen to the sound of raindrops pattering against the roof top, feel the breeze caressing your face, take in the sights of the green pastures at the front - I LIKE!

Japan Day 9 P3
I seriously thought that we have finished ALL Japan postings until FMQ raised a question:
FMQ: did you guys try tempura in Japan?
Leecher & me: Yes, we did ... it's damn good!
FMQ: but I didn't see it on your blog. I read every post diligently!
Leecher & me looked at each other .... the OH-NO-don't tell me we left out a post look on our faces!
So, the final post on Japan, just for the beloved GF :) from where this post is supposed to continue:
Japan Day 9 P1
Japan Day 9 P2
(for your reference, if you guys are interested)
Walking back to Shinjuku Station from Yodaibashi Camera, in search for the next destination.

The reason that makes it worthwhile!
The highlight of the night - tempura feast @ Tsunahachi Tempura.
The menu which contained all the yummys :)
Opted for the counter seats, so we can catch all the action.

Beer & tea - Leecher die die also want to try out their beer while I refused to touch anything cold.
English eating instructions prepared for non-Japanese. We spotted a guy with lonely planet in his hands inside the shop. Guess this place is very popular with locals and foreigners.

We ordered the Special Tempura Zen set menu which consists of the following:
Leecher was super excited for his first bite of the tempura!
Two seasoned vegetables, which a non-veg lover like me kept stealing from Leecher's plate.
Miso soup, flavoured with lots of small clams *slurp slurp*
Two seasoned fish & cuttlefish, which were all cooked in the secret-mouth-watering batter.

Conger Eel. We witnessed how the eel was killed alive, so imagine the freshness. The flesh was soft and fluffy.
