Double Date Part 2

It's time for a double date part 2 with ZZG, Ryan and Qian. It was supposed to be an outing with the rest of the group, but they went for their favourite activity for the moment ....

so it's back to the same 4 pple again. We went back to Kenneth's shop - Tapas Wine Bristro @ Holland V (again), haha.

Introducing the beer which Kenneth gave us a sneak preview ...

Uber nice, esp suitable for the ladies; a lingering fruity taste in your mouth.

I always love the wine cellar, it's like the highlight of the shop ...

Kenneth is such a dear, arranged for the couch for us to sit :) I love being @ his shop where I am treated like a VIP, hahaha....

Complimentary desserts from Kenneth - totally dig the Tiramisu! Think I must ask the chef for pointers on making Tiramisu :)

Do visit Tapas Wine Bristo if you're looking for a place to chill out or for delicious desserts.
It's located at 40 Lorong Mambong, Holland Village (opposite Wala Wala)

Leecher cheated on me

It all started with a little conversation that we had one night ....

Me: oh, you know, during Uni days - before we got together, I actually had a crush on XXX
Leecher: is it? *laughing, think he don't believe me, bleah*
Me: ya, what's wrong? That time I was still single, it's normal to have crush. You don't tell me you nv crush someone before?
Leecher: of cuz not lah - you know this gal or not (someone's else ex-GF), she was in the same class as us during ABCD module. You know, that time during tutorial, the lecturer asked her to go to the front of the class to present, ya, I think she quite pretty.
Me: eh, wait a min .... when we were in ABCD module, I thought we were already together?
Leecher: is it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Poor Road Sense ....

Remember that I once lamented abt Leecher's poor road sense (see post)? 2 of our good frens got to witness it LIVE when we went out for lunch one day.

We all met at the Prawn Noodle shop near our workplace, as seen below:

So after our lunch, we decided to go for our coffee session. Leecher suddenly got an idea:

Leecher: why not we go to the coffee shop instead? (confident tone)Walk till the end of the road, turn left etc ...
The rest (unsure of which coffee shop Leecher talking abt): ok, since you know the place, you shall lead the way ....
***BAD MOVE***

Leecher led the way, walked one BIG round, as indicated in the picture below:

When we could have just ...

Stupid Leecher only realised that the Prawn Noodles Shop is opposite the coffee shop when Fionn pointed it out to him ...

So pple, it's a miracle that he still hasn't lost his way till now .... ;P

Dinner @ Sin Ma - Leecher's post

Here I am back at Sin Ma Tian Ji Chou, but this time it is for dinner with Blamer's parents. Long overdue post this is cos Blamer has been keeping the photos but she keep saying they were with me... (Duh?)

Anywaz, I dun think the last time we took any pics of the menu rite? Here it is:

Quite classy no?

Blamer was going to recommend a particular dish to me called 竹蚌, or bamboo clams. Something I have never tried b4.

This is how they look like b4 cooking.

Was hoping we might get these as well. Niack Niack..

While waiting for our food, must take pic of same old me, and a quite "chui" Blamer.

Close up on same old me, and more "chui" Blamer.

These are the same 竹蚌 I mentioned earlier, in their "cooked stage". Very yummy though, the texture is a bit like sotong, but strange that they served it with vermicelli. Dun play play k. each of these little bamboo cost $10. Phew! Lucky her dad is picking up the tab, ha ha, just whack.

Other dishes include steamed pomfret. especially for the dad 'cos all old teochew must have fish de.

This was specially for Blamer. Since the time we had cereal crayfish at no signboard, she had fallen in love with them (more than me T.T)

Guess wat are these?

Fried Mantou for the main star of tonite...

But I think so-so only lor, initially the waiter put down a bigger plate and we thought we 赚到 'cos we only ordered 1 crab. Ended up the original owners managed to get it back, sian, should have quickly grabbed a piece first, ke ke.

Happy Once Again ...

Been feeling kinda moody these few days ... don't really have the mood to talk to anyone, just wanna keep to my own world

There's a limit to how much my small body can take - I think it's time to 看开,so that I will be back to my usual self :) with my frens, family and Leecher ...

I think Leecher got scared of my unusual behavior and put on his best behaviour, in an attempt not to "irritate" me further, haha .... (i kind of like this kind of royal treatment, wa ha ha)

but there's always something that can put a smile to my face ....

Wonder when will be the day I can own this... ??? *hint hint*

The Blu Experience

It's post Labour day and we were both on leave to take advantage of the loooonnnnggggg wkend :) Been quite a while since we both went to "pator", so we decided to meet up @ town to do some shopping .....

Went to MOS burger for lunch - purposely made Leecher to queue up for food, so that I can continue to leech on his carrot head .... wa ha ha...

Leecher made a reservation @ The Blu @ Shangri-La hotel and for the first time ever, he actually went to find out how to go to the place. He confidently told me that take bus 132 or 105 at the bus-stop on Scotts Road (in front of DFS) and 3 stops later, woila, we will be in front of the hotel. As we were at Somerset bus-stop, so I told Leecher that we can take bus 700 to the bus stop in front of DFS. What happened there-after made me so "pissed off" and told myself that I would nv trust Leecher's road sense again ....

Incident 1: Wrong Bus Stop

I doubled and tripled confirmed with Leecher that DFS is the bus stop that we shld be going. He assured me 2000 times that it's the correct bus stop. When we alighted at the bus stop outside DFS, I look at the directory and told Leecher that there is no bus 132 or 105.

Me: Are you sure that this is the right bus stop?
Leecher (looking up at the bus guide): Ya, that's what the street directory says.
Me: Den how come the bus stop doesn't reflect bus 105 or 132?
Leecher: eh, not sure leh..are there any bus stops that serve different buses?
Me: all the bus stops serve different buses leh, what are you talking about?

Finally, Leecher managed to remember that its the bus stop after DFS, which is the Thong Tuck building bus stop. We walked over to the bus stop and saw 105 and 132. Thinking that we're on the right track, we boarded bus 105 when it came.

Incident 2: Wrong Direction

When we boarded the bus, Leecher was happily counting down to the 3rd bus stop. When we were almost reaching the 3rd bus stop, I pressed the bell. However, looking at the surrounding, i sensed that something was wrong - we're at Steven's road and we are going further and further away from Orchard. Thus, we didn't alight at the 3rd bus stop. When we approached Raffles Town Club, I am 100% certain that something was wrong and I dragged Leecher off the bus.

Me: are you sure we're in the right direction or not?
Leecher: ya, that's what the street directory says.
Me (feel like strangling him at this point): but we're going further away from Orchard, the bus will go up the expressway, so this is not the right direction.
Leecher: it's the direction going to Tanglin mall
Me (seriously want to strangle him): I doubled and tripled confirmed with you on the bus stop and you keep saying that its correct, but now, we're travelling in the wrong direction.

Haiz, I should have nv trusted on Leecher's road sense - so in the end, we took a cab and alighted at the hotel lobby safely.

Taking the lift up to 24th floor, where The Blu is located ...
The Blu, enjoy French-inspired contemporary cuisine, premium wines and champagne from a lofty vantage point 24 stories above the heart of Singapore.

Upon reaching, the waiter showed us to our seats and presented us with the menu .... wow, it's really personalised service, for they addressed Leecher as Mr Keith instead of just "Sir"

Ordered a glass of champagne each to kick off the night. We were pretty daring, for we just ordered what the waiter recommended w/o even asking for the price, haha. Once we placed the order, we quickly checked the wine list and found out that the champagne ranges from $26 to $59 per glass. We were pretty worried that it would be the highest range ($59) since it was recommended by the waiter. So, we decided to cam-whore with it - to make our money worth, wa ha ha.

First up, french baguette with butter and cracker. Leecher thinks that the bread tastes just like normal bread and the cracker is like 漏风 soda biscuit.

We had the complimentary pre-starters to whet our appetites ...
Tuna in a glass

Juicy & fresh scallop

Next up, the appetizers: scallops (me) and tuna (Leecher). It was only now that we realised that what we had for our pre-appetizers were just a swap of what we're having now ... :)

Finally, it's time for the entrée.... The word entrée is French. It originally denoted the "entry" of the main course from the kitchens into the dining hall. In the United States and English Canada the entrée is a synonym for the main course. What is called an entrée elsewhere is called the first course, appetizer, or starter.
We ordered the lamb shank in red wine sauce & lobster, heavenly ~~~~~~~

Leecher can't wait to savour his lamb shank ....

My "mini" plate of lobster - which I think can't even fill 1/4 of my tiny stomach, haha. However, it's fine dining - so everything is in small portion >.<

Our dessert : Coconut pannacotta with roasted pineapple and lemongrass ice-cream. Notice the bling bling on top - that's GOLD foil, OMG~

The waiter recommended that we should take a walk @ the Balcony ...

When the bill came, its almost $310 .... but not to worry, there's always Leecher's carrot head

Vouchers complimentary from his workplace, wa ha ha.

And that concludes our virgin dining experience @ the BLU ....

*Leecher quite handsome hor....?

* note: he forced me to type one, :(
