Pre-WeddingTrip to BKK P5

29th Feb, a day that comes only once every 4 years. I used to know 4 29th Feb babies in my primary school days, but sad to say, I haven been in touch with them ever since. We used to joke that they are quite 可怜 as they can only celebrate their birthdays once every 4 years. To me, I get an additional day to plan for Leecher's birthday, heehee! Anyway, the final installment for our BKK trip.

The day continued with more feasting, walking and relaxing :)

Started the day with Baskin Robbins!

Cuz we happened to saw this promotion - buy 1 get 1 free! So Leecher drag me into the shop.

undecided on what he wanna get

Leecher went for fruity sorbet while I stick to chocolate ice cream. In the end, he liked my ice cream better, lol! Talk about being fickle-minded.

@ Central World for shopping & lunch.

Brought Leecher to try out Taling Pling, as we were both craving for green curry and all sorts of curry - something that we can't try out at roadside stalls. If there's any recommendation for green curry in BKK, please let me know, all the more reason to go back for another visit :)

Leecher looking through the menu, trying to decide what else to eat besides green curry.

Cold drinks to cool ourselves. The heat was so unbearable that we had to drink lots of cold drinks or stay indoors for shopping.

We decided to order all kinds of curry to satisfy our cravings. Green curry tasted way better than red curry, so we concluded to stick to green next time.

Despite ordering 6 dishes b/w the 2 of us, the serving wasn't that big, so we managed to finish all the food.

Saw this food vendor selling thai salad.

We decided to try taking the bus this time round to Chinatown.

The bus conductor selling tickets onboard.

Old school bus tickets :)

The bus conductor told us to get off earlier, as there was some festival within the area and traffic will be bad. It would be faster to travel by foot. So off we hopped off the bus to soak in some festive mood.

Walking along the streets selling all sorts of food - Leecher's eyes kept blinking non-stop, haha!

Samples fresh off the frying pan.

I thought they were plastic food on display due to the vibrant colours, but these were edible.

Butterfly pea + berry drink - taste yucky. Do not attempt.

There was even a recording from one of the local stations.

2 (light) boxes this time.

Leecher with our purchases.

Headed back to the hotel to pack our stuff :)

My new earrings from this trip *gasp* I didn't know that I bought that many till Leecher took it out to count (48 pairs), opps.

See, he also know how to shop what, occupying half the bed.

Ok, guess women still beat men in shopping, judging from my loots. BKK, I miss you so much!

************
Early morning flight

The streets were pretty quiet and empty.

A step closer to going home.

Came with 2, home with 6. *pats back for job well-done* No excess baggage this time round!

Felt lighter after checking in our luggage.

Breakfast @ Mango tree, quite exp.

Time to head to the gates.

The best way to save space? Wear your new shoes and throw away the box.

Up. up and away!

Pre-Wedding Trip to BKK P4

We spent another day at Chatuchak Market, combing for more stuff for our love nest.

Rather than cabs, BTS and MRT are usually our mode of transport. I realised that even though all cabs are now running on meter, there are still a lot of taxis not following it. So rather than waste time bargaining and worse, enduring bad traffic, I rather take the most convenient and direct way.

Yeah, we were both wearing hats. FYI - Leecher borrowed the less-feminine hat.

My newly purchased sun hat :)

Not bad right? Looking like Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece

I'm sure he's trying to ignore the ribbon at the back, LOL!

All time fave thai-iced-tea!

The scorching sun made us perspired so much that we need to seek shelter among the alleys instead of walking at the main street.

There are no lack of places to lunch at Chatuchak, but nailing the right one is extremely difficult. This cafe is better at western food than thai food, which was rather surprising.

Dinner @ food court, MBK. This food court is still using coupons instead of card. Exchange the unused vouchers back for cash at the counters. Food-wise wasn't as good as Platinum mall, though these 2 food court were under the same management.

Saw this interesting shop while walking around MBK. Shoes designed with all sorts of buttons - almost wanted to get a pair, but it came with a hefty price tag :(

Ended the night @ fave Mac :) Tell me, how not to get fat eating like this everyday?

Pre-Wedding Trip to BKK P3

Another day in BKK :) I think I can never get tired of this place as it's fabulous for shopping :) I'm sure many girls will agree with me, heehee! As I'm blogging this, I've already booked my tickets to BKK this year, yippee! Jun said I'm hooked on BKK, which I have to admit it's very true!

We tried another 2 items on the menu - fried rice with chicken & set breakfast with omelette.

The busy BKK traffic - sometimes taking the BTS is faster than taking the cab.

Check out this cab! Fully protected from the front to the back. I wonder if this cab is too accident-prone that the owner decided to take extra precaution?

Paid a visit to the famous Erawan Shrine, where the four-faced buddha is located. The place is always crowded with tourists and locals who have come to offer their prayers.

The day was pretty hot and humid so I was dressed in a plain spag top and shorts.

Taking the BTS

The weekend trip to Chatuchak Weekend Market

love :)

Had to look out for anything cold to quench the thirst, for the sun was blazing hot that day. Thai Iced Tea came to the rescue.

The thai-iced-tea-man even performed to entertain the customers. Amazing stunt *clap clap*

Bought pork crackers, which was more commonly known as 炸猪油渣.

We chanced upon these 2 figurines for our house - even though the price was steep, we still decided to lug them back.

After hours of walking, we were tired and needed to find a place to rest and recharge.

Coconut to quench our thirst.

Lunch @ The Family Cafe - quite a lot of items were sold out, so we had to make do with what was left.

After putting our stuff back @ the B&B, we headed out to Health Land. My client recommended this place to me when I went on my 1st BKK trip and been wanting to bring Leecher to try out.

Leecher can't wait to start as his legs were on the brink of collapsing from all the walking.

We were there at almost 9.30pm and the place was still crowded.

Leecher was so happy to rest his butt on the comfy sofa.

Waiting for our turn to be called. The turn-around time is normally quite fast, as they have a lot of in-house masseurs to distribute the workload.

Tired legs from all the walking

After 1hr of massage, I felt energized and all ready to conquer another 3 days of walking, haha! Time to make our way to my fave roadside stall :)

Taking the BTS & walking across 3 streets, just for

I had 2.5 bowls of this, cuz Leecher couldn't finish his share, so I gobbled it up!
