Reno Diary - Bathroom Accessories & Touch Up

Hello! Mid-week once again :) celebrated Khim's birthday 2 weekends back and boy, I was dead tired when we got home in the wee hours of the morning. The whole weekend was spent at home, recuperating - signs of growing old :( Taking a break from blogging about TW, so here's the continuation of our reno journey!

Installation of bathroom accessories

We bought most of our bathroom accessories from 2 places, mainly Heritage Bathroom Accessories & Ikea.

Leecher shopping for accessories @ Ikea Tampines. We prefer Ikea @ Tampines for it's closer to our place and also, there seemed to be more variety as well.

Installed a miniature sink in the service yard.

We didn't do any reno work for the common bathroom to bring down the cost of renovation. Installed the heater and some bathroom accessories.

Instead, we spent slightly more on renovating the master bedroom toilet, installed some cupboards for storage and changed the sink :) Wanted to have 2 sinks, but the design of the toilet prevented us from doing so. Hence, we ended up having a his-and-her corner. Leecher's stuff goes to the right side of the sink while mine goes onto the left side, on the pretty rack that I picked out from Ikea :)

 Touch-up

A week before the official handover, we checked through the house and took note of any areas that required additional touch ups. Our designers arranged for one of their guys to come over to finish up the work.

The worker was quite diligent. Not only did he worked on the areas that we spotted, he went around the room and looked through to ensure that everything was in place before he called it a day. Hardworking fellow, me like!

My Paper Executive 2012

BFF took part in the My Paper Executive this year and she managed to get into the top 16. My eyes did a double-take when I saw her picture on the papers, she was all silent about it! Minqian invited us to the grand finals at The Lawn @ Marina Bay.

Marina Bay Link Mall was one of the main sponsors. This is the new mall located within Marina Bay Financial Centre, which consisted of 3 office towers, residences and suites.  Our tickets to the event, felt like attending the gala premiere of a movie :)

Had to find our way around the area, for I seldom venture to this area. With more of my clients shifting offices to this area, I think I will have a better idea on how to navigate around in time to come.

Huge tentage in place for the event.

We were very early for the event, and managed to grab the a row for Minqian's family + us.

Spot BFF in the background, with her striking tangerine dress, heehee!

The lights came on and soon, the show started! Minqian was tagged no.16, so she was really far away from where we were sitted. My poor iphone camera couldn't capture a nice picture of her :(

Took these when she was positioned nearer to us! You go girl!

Pictures with BFF! I'm so glad something GOOD happened to her cuz of this competition :)

The goodie bag was awesome! It came enclosed with a bag hook, which was absolutely useful!

Hmm ... should I sign Leecher up for the contest next year? *grins*

Merely Ice Cream

A uni friend took a leap of faith and opened his own ice cream shop. We went along to lend our support to him for the soft opening of his shop. Located at Sunshine Plaza, it was approx 10 mins walking distance from the MRT station.

Sunny weather, just in time for ice cream!

Congratulatory flowers displayed outside the shop :)

The post-it ice cream cone had became the trademark of this shop! Kudos to the owners for their creativity!

All ice creams are freshly made (without any preservatives) and sold within the day. Closing hours can vary, depending on the availability of their stock.

Boss Tham :)

We were there around mid-noon and the ice creams were selling out fast! Peanut butter selling out fast, so I had to grab a scoop.

The elves helping out at the shop.

Sneak peek into their working station, but no photography allowed.

Treated to their freshly roasted walnuts with Gryton Chamomile tea ... heavenly. I could really snack on these the whole day.

Foodie BFF at her mini "interview" with Boss Tham, so she could pen her review on her blog (http://thefoodchapter.blogspot.sg/2012/03/merely-icecream-sunshine-plaza.html)

We ordered 3 scoops to share: peanut butter, cereal mile and strawberry. Thumbs up for the peanut butter, as it had chunks of peanut butter within :)

Brought the new camera out, still trying to adjust to all the different modes of shooting.

It was at this place that we discovered BFF was in the running for MyPaper Executive 2012.

Haa, memories!

With Boss Tham, Minqian, Chloe (BFF's sister). Finally meeting the sister after soooooooo long!

*Waves hi!* Hope you're still reading this blog, haha!

High tech register, using an Ipad! And also, promotions are in the pipeline as well :) Do drop by if you're in the area.

Tham (thumbs) up for the ice cream :)
