Footprints in Taiwan - Ye Liu Stone Park

Fourteenth Stop: Ye Liu Stone Park

Woke up late again today. It's already 1pm when we left our hotel to go to Ye Liu. First of all, it's time for ... DONUTS! Totally dig the cute packaging.

Took the Metro to Taipei Main Station and transfer to Guo Kuang Bus that will take us to Ye Liu. 1-way bus ticket cost NT$92 per person. We learnt that half ticket meant children concession, instead of 1-way ticket, haha.

After around 2 hr of journey, we reached Ye Liu stone park. Had a hard time searching for the entrance of the park though.

Terrific view of the ocean and fantastic rock formations sculpted by nature.

Had to queue up to take this Queen's head, the famous icon of Yeliu. This icon can be found on almost all the packaging of food etc in the area. There is even a sign to forbid people from touching the Queen's head. However, this stone sculpture only looks like the Queen's head from this angle. If you view it from another angle, it's just another stone.

Lots of rock sculptures, but somehow, only the Queen's head stands out from the crowd.

It costs NT$50 per person to enter the park. Must take pictures!

It was starting to turn dark, thus, we left the place for our next destination.

Fifteenth Stop: Jiufen

I must say that this is one of the biggest regret in this whole trip, since I couldn't get to witness the beauty of Jiufen. When we reached the place, after a long bus journey, it was almost 8pm and raining. Almost all the shops were closed. Felt so sad that I just anyhow bought 4 bottles of prawn crackers from one of the shops that was still opened =(

Nevertheless, we tried this Yam-pearls. Well, nothing fantastic.

Took the bus back to Taipei straight. The ride down the mountain was scary. Think all the bus drivers can be Chiu Ming Shan Che Shen (those who watched Initial D will know), since they need to scale the mountains everyday.

Famished after a whole day of travelling. Went to Ximending again to pack dinner back to the hotel to eat. Cong You Bing + Carrot Cake + Lu Rou Fan with egg + Beancurd and pearls + Hotdog + Dumplings + Taiwanese Sausages.

What a spread to end the day ~
